ITV in ANOTHER baffling scheduling move this weekend – just weeks after Tipping Point debacle

ITV have been caught up in yet another baffling scheduling move weeks after being called out for consistent repeats.

The channel has seemingly been struggling to fill its schedules in recent weeks and has had to rely heavily on repeats in order to stop the channel from falling off air.

Tipping Point also suffered the same fate just weeks ago[/caption]

However, rather than making use of its huge archive bank, the network has seemingly been choosing to air the exact same repeats within just weeks of each other.

This weekend looks set to be no different either.

ITV are currently planning to air the James Bond movie The World Is Not Enough on Saturday between 4pm and 6:30pm.

It comes just ONE WEEK after the exact same movie held the exact same timeslot on the channel.

Just days ago, the movie was screened from 4:35pm on ITV1 for the first time.

The odd move is the latest to follow in a pattern of ITV’s whereby they fill their schedules with the same repeats.

Weeks ago, the same problem appeared to occur with game show Tipping Point – and fans were instantly left fuming.

In August, viewers were left with Deja vu as the broadcaster began airing repeats of episodes that had aired just TWO weeks prior.

Despite having racked up over 1,700 episodes in total, ITV have been opting to re-broadcast the same 20 episodes from series 13 in a strange move.

In another bizarre move, currently only 19 episode from series 13, those currently being aired on a regular re-run, as well as one episode from series 14 are available to stream on ITVX as opposed to the huge back catalogue of those at ITV’s disposal.

The channel has offered no explanation as to why the same episodes are being repeated within weeks of each other as well as to the limited selection being offered up on their streaming service.

Fans were quick to rage at the channel for the odd decision with one viewer telling The Sun: “They were on only a week or so ago, is it a mistake?

“I’ve never noticed this before, it’s really rubbish.”

Others flocked to X – formerly Twitter – to have their say, writing: “@tippingpoint or is it Tripping Point?

“@ITV recycle these shows more frequently than my local refuse chaps.”

I had a secret baby in my bedroom after getting pregnant at 15 & didn’t tell anyone for 4 days – I was scared of my mum

A WOMAN has told how she gave birth in secret in her bedroom when she was just 16 years old– and she told nobody for four days.

Sneaking out constantly during her youth, Miranda Ponthieux had grown up with a man she had known since nursery and landed pregnant with his baby.

After noticing pregnancy-like symptoms, Miranda pushed them away as she remained skinny, not showing in the slightest that she could be pregnant.

The now 40-year-old from West Monroe, Louisiana, USA, said: “I was not feeling well, my stomach still kept cramping, and I told my mom, and she was like, ‘Oh, you’re probably going to start your period’.

“I had a baby in my room, and I did not know what to do.

“I was like freaking out big time. I had this baby in my room, and I had no idea what to do with it.”

Refusing to believe that being pregnant could be an actuality, Miranda utterly refused to tell her mum about the possibility she could be pregnant for fear that she would hit the roof in anger.

Miranda recalled how she got initially sudden bad stomach cramps as she pleaded with her mum for advice.

After confronting her mum about her pains, she advised Miranda to rest in bed and later that night Miranda told how it was ‘clear’ that her pains were a sign of something more.

She stayed home alone the day after, missing school in the process where she went on to give birth to a girl in her bedroom the same day.

Unsure what to do, Miranda safely placed her newborn underneath a car shelter, before a family friend visited the house where she then pretended to be surprised that the baby had appeared there.

Miranda pulled it off as well as she stated that ‘nobody had any questions about it’.

However, the lies and the secrets eventually proved too much for Miranda to handle as the guilt forced her to write a note to her mum, which she left in her car.

To her surprise, she was met with love from her mum and the rest of her family as they all immediately wanted to care for her.

During the four days, her daughter was left in state custody where she was looked after and fed while Miranda contemplated how to deliver the shocking news to her loved ones.

Reflecting on her secret teenage pregnancy, Miranda explained: “Not a single person in the world knew for four days.

“When I was 15, I was sneaking out all the time with this guy who I had been friends with since kindergarten.

“We lived right down the road from each other and obviously, we were doing things that led to me getting pregnant.

“I didn’t get big, I was so skinny, super, super skinny.

Why do some women have bigger baby bumps than others?

According to Healthline, baby bump sizes vary with pre-pregnancy fitness levels being a key factor.

Women with stronger abs are more likely to have a flat belly for longer and those with a six-pack will carry higher as the abdomen can support the weight better.

Pregnancy weakens the abdomen muscles which can make following baby bumps show sooner.

Increased water and bloating can cause some women to get a belly in the first trimester, despite the baby not being big enough to show until the second trimester.

“I stayed that way but there were signs to me that I was pregnant, but I didn’t get big, so I was like, ‘Well I can’t be’.

“It was a little girl, and I kept checking on her.

“She was in a closed basket full of clothes, and I made sure she was okay – I wrapped her up in a blanket, but I didn’t know what to do.”

Major update for nearly 1million energy customers as meters set to go ‘dumb’

MORE than 800,000 households will have their energy meters replaced before the network they use is switched off next summer.

Hundreds of thousands of customers with Economy 7 and other multi-rate energy tariffs use these meters, which charge users different rates depending on the time of day.

But these devices are operated through the Radio Teleswitch Service (RTS), which broadcasts a signal alongside the long-wave channel for BBC Radio 4.

This service is being turned off on June 30, 2025 after the deadline was extended following coverage by The Sun last year.

The switch off could lead to huge bill hikes for customers as they are no longer able to access cheaper energy rates.

Some homes, businesses and schools could even be left without heating or hot water.

Others may be unable to turn off their heating.

The only way to avoid facing these issues is for affected households to switch to a smart meter.

Customers who swap to a smart meter will still be able to access multi-rate energy tariffs including Economy 7.

What has been agreed?

Energy suppliers, Government and consumer groups have now pledged to work together to replace RTS meters before the switch off.

The ten energy companies who have signed up are: British Gas, EDF, E.On, Octopus, Ovo, Scottish Power, So Energy, SSE, Total Energies, Utilita and Utility Warehouse.

Industry regulator Ofgem, trade association Energy UK, Distribution Network Operators, Smart Energy GB, Government and consumer groups will also be involved.

Through their Call To Action the industry has pledged to:

  • Focus their resources on regional “hot spots” where there are the most RTS customers
  • Fast track RTS customers for meter upgrades
  • Prioritise upgrades for customers who are known to be vulnerable
  • Tackle any technical problems by sharing their knowledge and expertise
  • Provide monthly updates on how many meters have been replaced
  • Consider if further action is needed

The pledge will also speed up the rate at which RTS meters are replaced.

At the current pace it would take until 2028 for all of the RTS meters across the UK to be upgraded.

What does it mean for me?

Customers who have an RTS meter, or those who are not sure if they have one, should contact their energy supplier for advice.

The supplier should then be able to make an appointment for an engineer to visit their home and check.

How do I know if I have an RTS meter?

YOU'LL be able to tell if you have a meter that relies on the RTS quite easily.

The oldest RTS-powered meters have a switch box labelled “Radio Teleswitch” located next to the physical electricity meter.

Others may the RTS switch box included within the electricity meter as a single box on the wall.

If you’re unsure about the type of electricity meter in your home – call your supplier as they’ll usually have this information on hand.

Energy companies have been contacting customers about the switch off since 2023.

But under the new plans suppliers will contact all RTS customers by December 31, 2024 to let them know that RTS will be shut down.

Households will also be told why it is important that their service is upgraded and they will be offered an appointment to have their meter upgraded.

It usually takes around two hours for an RTS meter to be upgraded but some cases may need more than one visit by an engineer.

Many properties with RTS meters are in rural areas or on islands.

This is why the Call To Action is so important as the industry wants to make sure it contacts as many households as possible before the switch off.

What are the benefits of installing a smart meter?

Getting a smart meter does not cost anything as your supplier will install it for free.

Customers affected by the RTS switch off will also not be charged.

Smart meters send meter readings to your energy supplier automatically, which means you do not need to do this yourself.

They can make your bills more accurate too as they are based on readings from your actual usage, rather than estimates.

The devices can help to track how much energy you use at night, during the day and at peak times.

You will be given an in-home display, which connects to your meter and shows your energy usage and the cost in pounds and pence.

Customers with RTS electricity meters that swap to a smart meter will still be able to access flexible electricity tariffs if they opt for one.
