Ultra-rare 1984 Porsche Rally car with special ‘lollypop’ seats & top speed of 160mph set to fetch £2.6M at auction

AN ultra-rare Porsche rally car which is fitted out with special “lollypop” seats could be yours for a cool £2.6million when it goes up for auction.

Bids are currently being taken by Broad Arrow Auctions for the final 1984 SC RS at its inaugural Chattanooga sale, in Tennessee, which takes place later this month.

It is the last Type 954 rally car the German manufacturer built and is thought to be one of the most original still in existence,

The 911 SC RS, which is also known as the 911 Evolutionsserie, was built for competing in FIA Class B rally racing.

Porsche built just 21 models in 1983, five of which went to professional racing teams.

The others, including the one for sale, were sold to private customers.

While the 16 cars were built for the track they are also street legal.

The Porsche currently for sale has the chassis 021, the last one produced.

While it’s thought this model may have left the factory in Dutch flag-inspired colours, its aluminium body panels, fibreglass bumpers, a rally light pod, and forged Fuchs wheels are now all finished in a brilliant coat of white.

As you’d expect in a rally car, there is a beast under the bonnet.

A mechanically injected 3.0-litre flat-six sits in the vehicle’s engine bay.

It’s race-spec five-speed manual gearbox produces 280 hp, 184 ft lbs of torque, and has an 8,000-rpm redline.

In 1984, Porsche claimed the car could reach 60mph in 5.3 seconds, but more recent testing indicates that figure to be rather conservative.

It has a top speed just shy of 159 mph.

Being a rally car, the 911 SC RS is rather spartan inside.

It’s fitted out with 935-style “lollypop” seats and a roll cage and does come with some creature comforts, such as a radio, power windows and air conditioning.

Thanks to its lack of features, such as soundproofing, it has a curb weight of just 2,160 pounds.

Porsche originally delivered the car to importer Tycho Christian van Dijk in 1984.

He had intended to race the car in multiple events but would actually only ever compete in one event, that season’s Tour de Corse on Corsica.

It came in 14th, the best placing of any Porsche entered into the rally.

Due to it being the car’s only race it never claimed any honours but that does mean the vehicle is in tip-top share four decades on.

Over the years it has only notched up 3,227 miles on the odometer and it has only changed hands once previously.

With the current seller buying the motor in 2004.

It comes with a Porsche Classic Technical Certificate and extensive paperwork history.

The 911 SC RS goes under the hammer on October 12.

But anyone thinking of making a bid will need very deep pockets as Broken Arrow expects the vehicle to go for between £2million and £2.6million.

Despite this, they continued with their wedding plans and got married the same day.

Tigerlily, who married Adan, in a lavish wedding at Bebek Halls in Amman, Jordan last year, is the owner of two businesses, according to her Instagram bio

She’s the owner of Neige Concept, which is a store for the “modern family with a curated edit of ethical and sustainable childrens wear, womens wear, and skincare.”

Tigerlily also offers a digital marketing course online, Make Money With Tiger, boasting more than 9,200 followers on social media.

The pair appeared on season seven of TLC’s hit reality series The 90 Day Fiancé.

Speaking before she caught her flight to Jordan, she told cameras: “I’m not nervous at all. I just want to get on the plane already and go.”

Tigerlily added that after 20 hours of travelling to see Adnan that she is “going to be married by the end of the day. It’s a lot.”

Harry Kane blasted: Prem legend slams striker and says he ‘wasn’t brought in to score hat-trick against Darmstadt’

HARRY KANE has been criticised in the German media after enduring a difficult week.

The former Tottenham striker, 31, was in action as Bayern Munich fell to a 1-0 defeat to Aston Villa in the Champions League.

Harry Kane was unable to score as Bayern Munich lost 1-0 at Aston Villa[/caption]

He also featured as Bayern drew 1-1 with Bundesliga champions Bayer Leverkusen last weekend.

Kane has netted 10 times in eight appearances in all competitions so far this season, while also laying on five assists.

After going scoreless in the crunch matches against Villa and Leverkusen, however, the England captain has received some scrutiny.

In his column for Sky Germany, former Premier League midfielder Dietmar Hamann questioned whether Kane has been a good signing for his former side Bayern.

Hamann, who also played for Manchester City, Liverpool and Newcastle, wrote: “Harry Kane had a personally sobering evening in Birmingham – in addition to the defeat.

“I said after the European Championship in the summer that he still has to prove that he is worth the 100 million – even though he scored over 30 goals last year.”

Hamann then appeared to suggest that Kane, who was denied by a last-gasp Emi Martinez save at Villa Park, only scores against weaker opposition.

The forward bagged four times against Dinamo Zagreb last month, in addition to netting a treble vs Holstein Kiel.

Hamann continued: “He wasn’t brought in to score a hat-trick against Darmstadt.

Dietmar Hamann has questioned Kane’s big-game record[/caption]

“He was brought in to score against Leverkusen and Aston Villa and to score in the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

“He hasn’t done that yet. I remain sceptical about the star striker.”

Kane is both Tottenham and England’s all-time leading goalscorer.

He scored 280 goals in 435 appearances for Spurs before leaving in the summer of 2023, and has so far plundered 68 in 100 England caps.

His scoring record has remained incredible since signing for Bayern, averaging more than a goal a game with 54 in 53 appearances.

But Kane’s side failed to win the Bundesliga or DFB Pokal last season, and fell narrowly in the Champions League semi-finals to eventual winners Real Madrid.

The forward did score in the tie against the Spanish giants, before having to go off late on in the second-half with a back injury that would continue to bother him during Euro 2024.

He also scored as Bayern eliminated Arsenal in the quarter-finals.

Kane and Co return to action this Sunday, when they travel to Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga.

Deputy PM Angela Rayner WON’T need to cough up DJ cash for Ibiza holiday as Starmer says Cabinet can keep freebies

ANGELA Rayner will not have to cough up for her Ibiza DJ jolly worth £836, Sir Keir Starmer has said.

The Prime Minister told The Sun he does not expect Cabinet Ministers to follow his lead and repay their post-election freebies.

The Deputy PM declared she was given “hospitality – visit to DJ booth, Hi Ibiza, value £836” on August 28[/caption]

It comes after he personally covered more than £6,000 worth of gifts and hospitality in a bid to shake off a growing scandal over donations.

But the PM said it was his “personal decision” and that he is not “saying others should do the same”.

Speaking during a visit in Merseyside, he said: “We are going to draw up some principles so that everyone can see the basis on which donations et cetera are being accepted.

“We are working on that. Until they are drawn up I decided to repay so that any future activities, of me or anybody else, are in accordance with whatever the new principles are.

“That is my personal decision, I am not saying others should do the same.”

The PM also refused to say if paying back the gifts was admission he had something wrong.

Yesterday, The Sun revealed the Cabinet have taken more than £11,000 in freebies since being appointed in July.

The Deputy PM declared she was given “hospitality – visit to DJ booth, Hi Ibiza, value £836” on August 28.

The donor is listed as Ayita LCC, the management company for Australian house and techno DJ Fisher, whose booth Ms Rayner was pictured raving in.

Other members of the Cabinet to accept summer outings include Treasury Minister Darren Jones who took four Taylor Swift tickets worth £3,400 and Education Secretary Bridget Phillipson who took two Wimbledon tickets worth £1,060.

The Sun also exposed how a Labour Party commercial team had offered company chiefs a chance to “gain insight” with the Business Secretary in exchange for £30,000.

Jonathan Reynolds said he was unaware of the meeting and Energy Secretary Ed Miliband today urged Labour ‘”don’t do it again”.

Political parties often organise events alongside business leaders, including the Conservatives, who held a business day at their party conference this week.

Mr Miliband told ITV‘s Good Morning Britain ministers were not interested in having businesses pay for access to them.

He said: “The answer is – whether it is me or Jonathan Reynolds – it is not about paying to have access. That is not what we are about, no,”

No 10 is planning to publish a new code of conduct for ministers, possibly within days, which will tighten the rules on accepting donations.
