STRICTLY Come Dancing fans have spotted a concerning detail about star Pete Wicks after watching his latest rehearsal footage. 

During Wednesday’s instalment of It Takes Two, BBC viewers were given a preview of the celebrities in rehearsals and a look at their upcoming routines for Saturday’s show.

One of the segments showed The Only Way Is Essex star Pete Wicks working alongside his professional partner Jowita Przystał as he attempted to learn the American Smooth. 

Speaking about his upcoming routine, Pete admitted: “I know nothing about American Smooth other than it’s really difficult! 

“Even just doing the frame hurts me,” he added.

After hearing his confession and watching the reality star practise his moves, BBC fans were left concerned about his fate on the show as the first couple will be eliminated on Saturday (September 28) night.

Taking to X, formerly Twitter, one worried viewer wrote: “Oh dear Pete looks terrible in rehearsals.”

“Hmmm I just said that lol,” agreed another, before adding: “Chris by far looking the best from what we’ve seen. Think Montell and Sarah will be great as well.”

A third said: “Pete’s American Smooth isn’t looking good at all…”

“Pete’s frame is looking very awkward,” noted a fourth.

Speaking to the camera on It Takes Two, Jowita explained that this week’s rehearsals with Pete have been more focused on the technical side of the dance.

Footwork was a big part of their rehearsals this week, but Jowita found herself having to pull Pete up on some of his mistakes, like putting his toe down when it should have been a heel. 

Pete then admitted: “The steps are confusing. It’s like building a house, isn’t it?

“I’m trying to lay foundations because if I don’t, the whole house is going to crumble on a Saturday night, isn’t it? I’ll need Nick (Knowles) to rebuild it,” he joked.

Pete is doing his best to get the steps down, and earlier in the week told It Takes Two presenter Janette Manrara that he’s learning a lot in rehearsals. 

“I am absolutely loving it,” he said of his Strictly experience so far, adding: “I never thought I would be because I didn’t think this was really my thing, I’m not a dancer.

“I don’t think I have rhythm, but what I am loving is the whole learning experience and that the bit that is most exciting for me, in the rehearsal room with Jowita.

“It’s my favourite bit because I’m a bit geeky and I love to learn something that’s really and utterly new to me. It makes me really happy.”

Turning to Jowita, he added: “And she makes me really happy every day.”

This comment plus the pair’s cosy body language on the sofa as they chatted to Janette left viewers wondering if there was more between them.

One said: “Their chemistry is palpable!” as a second viewer watching at home echoed: “Pete and Jowita have the best chemistry of any couple this series by far.”

A YOUNG Royal Navy recruit passed away after he started experiencing nose bleeds and night sweats, an inquest heard.

The 20-year-old had been training to serve in the Royal Navy before being found in his bed by his mum Zoe on the morning of November 12, 2020.

Zoe had desperately tried to resuscitate him, but it was “too late”.

Joshua Owen had been well before going to bed and had been to the gym and work, DevonLive reports.

But in the three months before his death, Joshua, from Plymouth had sought medical help after he started experiencing nighttime seizures, a symptom of epilepsy.

He was awaiting a neurology referral when he died, as both his mum and half-brother already had this disease.

In some parts of the country, a referral to a neurology clinic can take 12 months, the hearing in Exeter Court this week heard.

After some back and forth Joshua’s death was caused by Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP), despite never getting an epilepsy diagnosis, the coroner concluded.

SUDEP is when someone who has epilepsy dies suddenly during or following a seizure and no other cause of death can be found.

According to the charity, SUDEP Action, about one in 1,000 people with epilepsy lose their lives to the rare phenomenon every year.

“On the balance of probabilities, Joshua had suffered a number of seizures prior to his death, the latest of which had led to him suffering a facial injury,” assistant coroner Ian Arrow told the court.

“He particularly suffered seizures during the nights prior to his death. His death was a natural death,” he added.

Joshua had previously seen a doctor after experiencing ‘absences’ – brief episodes where a person temporarily loses awareness of their surroundings, an earlier inquest hearing in March 2022 was told

He had also been waking up in night sweats and nose bleeds, which began in August 2020, but all blood tests came back clear. 

A post-mortem examination suggested he died from sudden arrhythmic death syndrome (SADS), a genetic condition where someone dies suddenly and unexpectedly from a cardiac arrest with no clear cause.

However, the inquest was adjourned after the coroner, having heard from the family and SUDEP Action, concluded that further evidence was needed to determine the cause of his death

Two years later, the inquest resumed on September 23, 2024, when Joshua’s family were finally given answers.

Home office forensic pathologist Dr Deborah Cook gave her conclusion as SUDEP after receiving additional evidence from genetic testing and two expert neurologists who differed in opinion.

She described Joshua’s health symptoms as ‘very relevant’ prior to his death and noted that he had been waiting for a referral.

She said: “The NHS’s inability to see patients as quickly as their families would hope is no excuse to ignore those symptoms.”

Previously, a pathologist had recommended that his death be recorded as sudden cardiac death, but Dr Cook ruled this out.

She added it was ‘possible’ he could have been suffering from both a brain and heart defect.

‘I am his voice now’

Zoe Owens, Joshua’s mum, was permitted to read out a pre-prepared statement explaining why establishing the correct cause of Joshua’s death was so important.

She said: “No one should ever have to arrange their child’s funeral but I owe it to Joshua to make sure the right cause of death is on his death certificate, for him and for others that may go through the same.

“I am his voice now.”

She added: “This is so important for his half-brother Marcus who suffers active seizures which are not controlled.

“It is imperative that we get the correct answer for not only Joshua but for other people too.”

‘My heart has been ripped out’

During the final hearing, Dr Cook spoke about the importance of awareness of the risks of nocturnal seizures and that people presenting symptoms should receive an urgent referral for diagnosis.

“We can learn and educate that individuals experiencing these symptoms at night should perhaps be seen sooner,” she said.

“If that was a possibility within our system anyone could only hope for that.

“It is the nocturnal seizures with individuals on their own that I consider particularly relevant.”

Since Joshua’s death, Zoe has launched a JustGiving page which has raised £2,340 for SUDEP Action.

Recalling the horrific event, she said: “On the morning of Thursday, November 12, 2020 my life changed forever.

“I went into Joshua’s room to wake him and found him unresponsive – I tried to resuscitate him but it was to late, he was already gone.

“I feel like my heart has been ripped out and at times I can hardly breath,” she added.

A MAN has been stabbed at a London train station during rush hour.

The horror knife attack happened at Barnes station around 7am on Thursday.

It is not yet known what condition the victim is in.

Cops raced to the scene – where it is understood the station remains closed.

Southern Western Railway said this morning: “Police are dealing with an incident near the railway at Barnes.

“Train services running through this station will be suspended. Barnes will not be served.”

A spokesperson for National Rail said: “Trains are currently unable to call at Barnes in either direction due to the police dealing with an incident at the station.

FEARS are growing as a mother and child are missing.

Cops have confirmed that Anxhelina, 32, is Rojs’ mother.

The last sighting is not yet known, but the missing person’s log was opened on September 19 – over a week ago.

The statement said: “Officers are becoming increasingly concerned for their welfare.

“Anyone with any information about their whereabouts should contact police on 101, quoting log 1857of 19/09/24. Always call 999 in an emergency.”

THE 2027 Champions League Final could be awarded to Wembley after Milan’s San Siro Stadium was stripped of hosting rights.

Uefa had indicated the San Siro would stage the biggest game in European club football for the fifth time and first since 2016.

But Uefa chiefs put confirmation of the venue on hold when they met in Dublin in May because of the uncertainty over the ground’s future.

And now Euro bosses agreed at a meeting in Prague that Italian authorities could not give them sufficient guarantees.

In a statement following the meeting of Uefa’s ruling executive committee, the organisation said a new host would now be sought – opening the way for Wembley or another English ground to go into the mix.

Uefa said: “As the Municipality of Milano could not guarantee that the San Siro stadium and its surroundings would not be affected by refurbishment works in the period of the 2027 UEFA Champions League final, it was decided not to assign the final to Milan and to re-open the bidding process to appoint a suitable venue, with a decision expected in May/June 2025.”

The decision is a major embarrassment for Milan and the San Siro but comes with current co-tenants Inter and AC Milan both considering alternative new home grounds.

This season’s final will be played at Bayern Munich’s Allianz Arena while the 2026 game has been confirmed for Budapest.

Wembley played host for Real Madrid’s win over Borussia Dortmund only in June but Uefa know playing their biggest match at a venue with outstanding corporate facilities would make it an even bigger money-spinner for their finances.

Uefa bosses also confirmed that the “Big Five” leagues, including the Prem, will only receive £8.3m in “solidarity” cash for the clubs not competing in European competitions this season, worth around £640,000 to each of the 13 top flight outfits.

The remaining 50 smaller leagues will share £215m with Uefa believing the new split – no clubs in any of the three European competitions will benefit from the larger fund – will “support the competitive balance across Europe”.

Wembley has hosted the Champions League final three times since being rebuilt, with Barcelona beating Man Utd there in 2011.
