BEAUFORT, N.C. (WNCT) — Detectives with Carteret County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Unit were given information regarding Adrian Simmons and his involvement in distribution of fentanyl in Newport.
After several undercover operations, detectives were granted a search warrant for the suspect’s residence. According to the press release, the search resulted in detectives seizing approximately 5.6 grams of fentanyl, 85.2 grams of cocaine, 207.4 grams of marijuana, and an estimated $771 in cash.
Simmons was arrested and charged with two counts of trafficking cocaine, two counts of trafficking fentanyl, and possession with intent to manufacture, sell and deliver marijuana.
He was given a secured bond of $500,000. Simmons first court appearance was October 11 and his secured bond increased to $900,000.
