Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 isn’t the only big-name game launching in October 2024

IN the run-up to the holidays it feels like all of the biggest games are launching at the same time.

September was already a stacked month for gaming releases, but October will be competing for the best month in gaming crown.

Call of Duty is the biggest name-dropping this month, but a number of big remakes and a new Atlus RPG make for a packed lineup.

Here’s all of the biggest games launching in October 2024.

Until Dawn

Until Dawn was a huge release back in 2015, as the narrative survival horror game featured well-known actors like Rami Malek and Hayden Panettiere.

As a group of teenagers are trapped on a mountain, it’s up to you to make the decisions that will risk or save their lives.

October will see a remake of the game for those who missed out on the original drama.

Until Dawn’s remake launches on October 4 for PlayStation 5 and PC.

Silent Hill 2

Second up this month for horror remakes is the return of gaming classic Silent Hill 2.

This is a ground up remake that doesn’t exactly follow the story of the original.

There will be multiple endings including some new ones that people are just waiting to uncover.

Silent Hill 2’s remake will be released on October 8 for PS5 and PC.

Metaphor: ReFantazio

From the creators of the modern Persona games, Metaphor: ReFantazio is a whole new Atlus RPG.

Set in a high-fantasy world, it features the mix of dungeon crawling and relationship building that the modern Persona games are best known for.

With a whole new take on combat that features better chances to synergise, people are excited to embark on this new adventure.

Metaphor: ReFantazio will launch on October 11 for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Super Mario Party Jamboree

In the thirteenth release in the Mario Party series, players will be able to use their favourite Super Mario characters to challenge friends once more.

Jamboree features a number of board game-style maps, where players compete in mini-games to earn coins and buy stars.

Featuring more characters than ever before, fans are excited to fall out with their friends once again.

Super Mario Party Jamboree launches on October 17 exclusively for Nintendo Switch.

Sonic X Shadow Generations

Part remaster and part all-new game, Sonic X Shadow Generations is a game of two halves.

The first half is Sonic Generations, a remaster of one of the more popular 3D Sonic games, and the other is a new take on that game featuring fan-favourite Shadow.

Shadow will take on new levels and boss fights, making a completely new game, but the pair will be sold as a double pack.

Sonic X Shadow Generations releases on October 22 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Switch.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6

The biggest release of the month is the next entry in the Call of Duty series, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6.

It features a new single-player mode as well as the multiplayer modes that the series is best known for.

Black Ops 6 will also bring back the traditional Zombies mode that features waves of enemies to take down.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will be released on October 25 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC.

Life is Strange: Double Exposure

The next entry in the Life is Strange series, will also be launching in October.

In this game, Max takes on the role of detective, to try and prevent her friend’s death.

Dragon Age: The Veilguard

The long-awaited fourth game in the Dragon Age series is almost here in Dragon Age: The Veilguard.
