Caldwell County Officials are asking residents to please avoid traveling to Northern Caldwell County and into Watauga County. Give first responders and utility crews room to work, especially in these hardest hit areas.
According to the North Carolina Department of Transportation, all roads in western North Carolina should be considered closed. Please stay off the roadway if possible. First responders need roadways clear to respond to calls, and utility crews need roadways open to restore power.
