Bristol Palin’s 15-year-old son, Tripp Easton Johnston, spent some quality time binding with his stepmother Sunny Oglesby Johnston on Sunday — two months after he texted her that he was moving to Alaska to be closer to his father Levi Johnston.
“He just texted me,” the Texas 34-year-old recalled Cheryl Burke’s podcast on August 25.
“He says, ‘Hey mom, I’m not coming back.’ Oh, I couldn’t even believe it! At first I thought, “I’m coming to Alaska, we’re not doing this!” I was so angry. So angry.’
Bristol “selfishly” wanted her “best friend” to stay, but ultimately respected “that he thinks this is for the best and that he needs that relationship with his father.”
“So as hard as it is for me, and as hard as it is for my girls, I know he needs to strengthen his relationship with his father,” Palin noted.

“And he loves Alaska so much, he’s hunting and fishing all the time. So I know it will be a good thing.”

The aspiring motocross racer also builds a strong relationship with his three homeschooled half-sisters: Breeze Beretta, 12; Indy Rae, 9; and Delta Jo, 5.
Next Monday is the 12th wedding anniversary of Sunny and 34-year-old Levi.

After their five-year relationship ended in 2010, the Boy Hart founder competed in two seasons of the ABC dancing competition, Dancing with the Stars, in 2010 (third) and 2012 (ninth).
Meanwhile, little Tripp and his dance partner Hailey Bills were the first couple eliminated on ABC spin-off Dancing with the Stars: Juniors in 2018.
On June 19, Bristol revealed its affiliate of the real estate company Austin Home Seekers “achieved total sales volume of over $100 million over the past six years.”
