I was accused of ‘stealing’ a passenger’s charger on flight but I can show I’m innocent…I’ve been getting death threats
A WOMAN accused of stealing a man’s phone charger on a flight has hit back at online trolls sending her death threats.
Vanessa was filmed getting into a heated confrontation with a fuming man on board a plane with the footage going viral – sparking many to question who was really in the wrong.
The woman at the centre of a viral TikTok showing a heated argument over a charger has spoken out[/caption] Vanessa has hit back at online trolls sending her death threats over the video[/caption] The moment Vanessa handed over the charger with the pair arguing over where it was left in the first place[/caption]The owner of the charger shared the controversial footage on TikTok, showing the moment Vanessa admitted to taking the cable and plug.
Asking why she took the charger, the woman brazenly tells him to “chill the f*** out”, explaining she took it as “nobody was on the flight”.
The man than replies: “You can’t take things without asking. It doesn’t make any sense.”
He was then asked to sit down by another woman in order to keep from being kicked out from the aircraft.
Soon after the initial altercation other passengers begin to speak up and slammed the man for his aggressive attitude.
The shocking clip has since been stirring up debate online with some saying the woman is in the wrong so the reaction was justified.
Others accused the man of kicking off for “social media clout” after filming the whole ordeal and posting it alongside an explanation video.
Vanessa, shocked by the reaction online to the clip, has now finally revealed her side of the story saying it has been drastically taken out of context.
She posted a breakdown of the chaotic flight on TikTok explaining how the plane was halted due to technical issues with all passengers told to get off.
Vanessa was sitting towards the back of the plane and was one of the last to leave.
As she made her way through the cabin she says she spotted the charger on the floor and picked it up before trying to give it to the crew as she left.
Vanessa recalls: “I told the stewardess, and she would not take it because they cannot be liable for passenger possessions.”
This left her with little to no options so she put it in her bag to keep it safe, she claims.
Once they re-boarded the plane Vanessa explains how she told the owner of the charger, Eddie Orellano, she had it in her bag.
Vanessa claims Eddie was already very agitated and “getting in people’s faces” by this point.
He alleged that the charger was left in a plug socket under his seat and that a fellow passenger had told him they saw a blonde woman unplug it.
A man allegedly told him: “A girl that got off your flight actually stopped at your seat, unplugged your charger, rolled it up and put it in her bag.”
Vanessa denied taking it out of a socket and says she didn’t even want the charger hence not using it and immediately admitting to having it.
She says: “When I got on, I immediately told him I would get him his charger, but just to give me a second.
“I wanted to find a safe place to set my cat down and my luggage, and also get a little bit of distance from this very aggressive, erratic man, for my own safety.”
The viral video then shows the moments where Vanessa gives back the charger as the arguments erupt.
Despite saying she wasn’t the thief the internet was portraying her to be Vanessa did admit she acted out of character.
She said: “I was really stressed out, exhausted, worried about my cat, out of breath. Eight hours at the airport only to be recorded and yelled at.
“I totally acted imperfectly, as most people do under duress.”
She claims to have hit back at the viral clip after receiving a barrage of death threats.
It is unclear why the video was shared this week with reports saying the flight was actually from early September 2023.
Eddie did say one of the reasons was due to Vanessa’s attitude.
He added that one of the flight attendants even offered to call the authorities but he declined so the flight could get moving.
“She wasn’t trying to do a good deed for those of you who thinks she was,” he said.

COPS are ‘increasingly concerned’ for a woman who has been missing for nearly a week – launching an urgent appeal during their search.
Angela Simpson, 50, was last seen walking in the Ormesby area of Middlesbrough at around 6.30pm on Sunday.
She is described as 5ft8 and of slim build with dark brown hair, cops said.
Angela was wearing a pink or black jacket, black leggings or black shorts and white and pink trainers when she vanished.
Cops have launched a search for her – asking locals to check their CCTV and dash cam footage for any sightings.
Patrols are combing through the Ormesby area in a bid to track down Angela.
Detective Inspector Dan Cook said: “As time goes on we are growing increasingly concerned for Angela’s welfare.”
He added: “She requires medication which she does not have with her.
“It is out of character for her not to be in touch with family members for this length of time.
“Angela, if you’re reading this, please contact someone and let them know where you are.
“I’d ask members of the public to check CCTV and dash cam footage for any sightings of Angela.”
“I would also urge anyone with information to contact Cleveland Police as a matter of urgency.”
Angela was last seen in the area of Kildwick Grove and Penrith Road at around 6:30pm on Sunday, September 22, DI Cook said.
