SKY customers on streaming packages have been left fuming after another outage left their TV screens blank.
It follows a significant outage last week, also affecting Sky Glass and Sky Stream subscribers.
The most recent issue was first reported on Monday morning, but was fixed at around 8am this morning after complaints poured in last night.
“Attempted over a dozen times to reboot my Sky Stream, gets to ‘Your now connected’ screen and freezes,” One customer wrote in a help forum on Sky’s website.
“Unable to watch anything on Sky Stream since 21:00hrs 25th September. Followed all instructions, turned off, unplugged and still gets to same page and freezes.
“Only swapped to sky stream a few weeks ago NOT HAPPY….”
Another replied, saying: “I have had exactly the same with no explanation from Sky, NOT HAPPY.”
While a third person added: “I wonder what compensation we will get for not having TV for a few days, some kind of goodwill gesture would be nice as it wasn’t our fault.”
In a statement on its server status page, Sky said its engineers have resolved the issue and apologised for the disruption.
“We are aware that some of our Sky Glass and Sky Stream customers have experienced issues where their devices wouldn’t turn on,” the broadcaster wrote.
“Our engineers have resolved this,,, We are sorry for any inconvenience caused and remember you can watch on Sky Go right now.”
This should mean TVs will sort themselves out without any interference from the customer.
However, Sky has also urged customers to follow five steps to get their respective devices back up and running again, if they are still experiencing problems.
Sky Glass recovery
- Switch off your TV at the mains. There’s no need to unplug it.
- Press and hold the Standby button on the right-hand side of the TV for at least 60 seconds.
- 3. Keeping your finger on the button, switch the power back on at the mains and wait until you see the LED lights flash (this could take 60 seconds before the LED starts flashing), then remove your finger.
- 4. Let the Sky Glass TV complete the recovery process. This can take up to 15 minutes, depending on your broadband speed.
- 5. Switch the TV back on and follow the steps on screen to set up your TV.
Sky Stream recovery
- Switch off the Sky Stream puck at the mains. There’s no need to unplug it.
- Press and hold the Standby button on the bottom of the Sky Stream for at least 60 seconds.
- 3. Keeping your finger on the button, switch the power back on at the mains and wait until you see the LED lights flash different colours, (this could take 60 seconds) then remove your finger.
- 4. Let the Sky Stream puck complete the recovery process. This can take up to 15 minutes, depending on your broadband speed.
- 5. Switch the Sky Stream puck back on and follow the on screen steps to set it up.
