MERCEDES admitted they blundered by starting Lewis Hamilton on soft tyres for the Singapore Grand Prix.
Hamilton blasted the team’s strategy after finishing sixth in Sunday’s race at the Marina Bay Street Circuit — despite starting third on the grid.

Britain’s seven-time world champion had been the only driver in the top ten to start with his car on soft rubber.
And now Mercedes technical chief James Allison has confessed that their tyre choice for Hamilton was a “clear mistake” which “ruined his race”.
Speaking on Mercedes’ official YouTube channel, Allison confessed: “We should not have started on the softs, that was a mistake.
“If we could turn back time, we would do what those around us did and select the mediums.
“The soft tyre often allows you to get away from the start abruptly and allows you a good chance of jumping a place or two in the opening laps.
“We had no real expectation we were going to suffer the sort of difficulties we then experienced on the soft rubber.
“Lewis was left with a car that suffered poor tyre degradation and needed to pit early as a consequence.
“It really ruined his race for him. A clear mistake.”

On top of that, both Hamilton and team-mate George Russell, 26, suffered from “borderline heatstroke” in the humid 30C heat.
Russell had lined up fourth on the Singapore grid behind Hamilton but started on the medium compound and finished fourth.
Hamilton, 39, was left raging over the different strategies, adding: “I was perplexed, it didn’t make sense.
“It is hard to describe the range of emotions you feel when we have a difficult race like that. But I was so angry and frustrated.”

Family life
Mikayla is happily married to her husband Jace Terry, and together they have three children – Beckham, Haven and Tommie.
The couple – who have an age gap of five years – met when she was 16, and he was 21.
In a TikTok video from 2021, Mikayla opened up about being a mom of three by the time she turned 24 years old.
Speaking to fans she said: “I moved out of my mom’s house and in with my sister when I was 15 years old. I met a guy when I was 16 at a very low point in my life.
“I found out I was pregnant after less than a month of knowing each other.
“I decided to keep the baby, told him and he was 110% supportive and we went from there.”
The reality star continued, “I finished high school online and suffered from depression throughout my entire pregnancy.

“I had my son and he was the best thing to ever happen to me.
“I married my now-husband when our son was 6 months old.”
After they had their eldest Beckham, they then welcomed Haven who was followed by their second daughter, and third child, Tommie.
Some of Mikayla’s most popular TikTok videos feature her surprising her son, Beckham, with food.
In August 2024, she told her fans how her husband Jace had lost his job because of the couple taking part in Secret Lives of Mormon Wives.
Mikayla is constantly getting mistaken for a very famous Gossip Girl star.
This is because she is the spitting image of actress Leighton Meester.
Speaking about fans saying she looks like Blair from GG, Mikayla told People: “I’ve gotten it before. So when I first started TikTok back in the beginning of 2020, I’d get it all the time.
“Even now when I meet people, they’re like, ‘Oh wow, you’re Leighton [Meester],’ or ‘You look just like Blair’.”
But Mikayla loves the comparison, and added: “I’m trying to manifest a meetup!”
Health battle

Speaking to Us Weekly, Mikayla said: “Haven’t found any answers yet.

“I’m going to go to a cancer institute and get tested for different blood cancers.”
She added: “I’m a lot better than I was, but I still have my ups and downs, so it’s just frustrating to not get any answers and feel like I’m on my own and then have to navigate being in this really exciting time while not feeling my best,
“And so that’s kind of been the trickiest.”

The scandal began in 2022 after MomTok frontrunner Taylor Frankie Paul revealed she was divorcing her ex-husband, Tate Paul.
During a TikTok livestream, Taylor shared with her followers that the divorce was prompted by his involvement in “soft swinging” among the MomTok community.
Taylor said she and Tate agreed they wouldn’t “go all the way” with the other members.
“The whole group was intimate with each other,” she said, adding, “Tate has made out with several girls and other things, and I’ve made out with all of the husbands and vice versa.”
