He was sacked by the Hoops following six consecutive Championship defeats.

But now he is seeking a return to management.

According to the Daily Record, Ainsworth wants to become the next Hearts boss.

The Scottish Premiership side sacked Steven Naismith last week following a 2-1 defeat to St Mirren.

Club officials are now looking for his successor, with Ainsworth among the potential candidates.

The former QPR boss has applied for the vacant job and is now under consideration.

His statistics will be reviewed by Hearts before the interview process begins.

Ainsworth turned down several job opportunities after leaving QPR a year ago.

FOOTBALL FREE BETS AND SIGN UP DEALS

He was understood to be waiting for the perfect role to come around.

And he believes Hearts will tick every box.

Prior to his stint at QPR, Ainsworth managed Wycombe Wanderers for almost 11 years.

He won promotion from League Two in 2018 and from League One in 2020.

Ainsworth managed 550 games at Wycombe, with a win ratio of almost 40 per cent and he gained a reputation for playing attacking football.

Alfie Moon sacked as son Tommy’s abusive behaviour spirals out of control in EastEnders

TOMMY Moon has been causing problems in his parents’ lives in recent weeks, but now things are set to take a turn for the worse.

New episodes of EastEnders will see the teen’s behaviour cost his father his job.

Now his behaviour will start to affect his dad’s life as well[/caption]

Tommy has already made life difficult for his mum ever since she split up with her ex after discovering Phil was cheating.

He punched Kat Slater in the stomach when he heard the news, and has gone on to instigate furious rows trying to convince her to forgive Phil.

The boy started skipping school and shoplifting from Minute Mart when she refused to consider reconciliation.

Tommy then went on to start bullying his little brothers, and Kat had to step in as he got too rough with them during a game of football.

She turned to Tommy’s dad Alfie for help, and he has been attempting to get more involved in the boy’s life.

However, this will soon turn out to have a negative effect on Alfie’s life as well.

In upcoming scenes Kat has a conversation with Alfie, asking him to take a disciplinarian role in his son’s life.

The dad decides to close the bookies he works at early to have a heart-to-heart with his son about bunking off school, but ends up losing his job.

Tommy’s behaviour changes for a few days, but his parents remain suspicious that this is only temporary.

After being filled with guilt over causing his dad’s unemployment, Tommy tries to help Alfie get a managerial role at Minute Mart.

Alfie goes for an interview and Kat convinces him to take the job.

But will his absence mean Tommy goes back to his previous violent behaviour towards his mum as he is deprived of another father figure?

EastEnders bosses previously revealed that there would be a child on parent abuse storyline between Tommy and Kat.

Soap producer Chris Clenshaw said: “Kat is well-known in Albert Square for her no-nonsense attitude and fiery temper, but this storyline will explore how Tommy manipulates Kat’s unequivocal love for her son to exert his anger and elicit control.

“Jessie [Wallace] and Sonny’s [Kendall] performances have thoughtfully portrayed the complex realities of child to parent abuse with compassion and understanding, and the storyline will demonstrate how Tommy’s behaviour effects their relationship and the wider Slater-Moon family as a whole.

“To ensure we accurately and sensitively portray the realities of child to parent abuse, we have worked alongside Family Based Solutions, PEGS and NSPCC as well as other experts in the field.”

Jason Phasouliotis, Secondary Age Lead Practitioner at Family Based Solutions added: “We’re proud to be working alongside EastEnders on this storyline to bring to light a critical and often overlooked issue: child-to-parent abuse (CPA).

“Throughout our time working together, EastEnders has shown a deep commitment to portray this sensitive topic with the seriousness it deserves, and we hope this storyline will resonate with families experiencing CPA to encourage them to reach out for support.”

UK weather: Met Office warns of MORE flooding with fears of morning commuter chaos & communities cut off

THE Met Office has warned of more flooding with fears of morning commuter chaos and communities cut off.

Forecasters have issued three yellow rain warnings across the UK this morning.

One warning is in force for a swathe of the north from Derbyshire up to the Scottish border until midnight.

Heavy rain could lead to some disruption in the warning zone, particularly to travel.

Homes and businesses could be flooded, causing damage to some buildings.

Where flooding occurs, there is a slight chance of delays or cancellations to train and bus services

Spray and flooding could lead to difficult driving conditions and some road closures

And there is a small chance that some communities will become cut off by flooded roads

There is also a slight chance of power cuts and loss of other services to some homes and businesses.

Around 80-100mm of rain could fall in some parts of the warning zone, forecasters said.

Met Office expert Paul Gundersen said: “The rain today is potentially falling on already saturated ground.

“A number of warnings for rain have been issued outlining the increased risks for potential impacts.

“The highest rainfall totals are likely across the Pennines and North York Moors where 80-100mm could accumulate today.”

He added: “Others within the warning area could see 20-30mm quite widely.

“More severe weather warnings may be issued over the coming days so it’s important to check the latest forecast for your area.”

Another yellow warning is in force for Wales, the Midlands, East Anglia and the whole of southern England until 9am tomorrow.

There is a small chance of fast flowing or deep floodwater causing danger to life.

A third yellow warning covers County Antrim, County Armagh and County Down in Northern Ireland until noon.

Bus and train services probably affected with journey times taking longer.

Perhaps as much as 60-80mm could fall on high ground like the beloved Mournes mountains.

‘DECIDEDLY COOLER’

Heading into the weekend, it will turn somewhat nippy for much of the country.

Met Office expert Brent Walker said: “Things will be turning decidedly cooler into the weekend.

“Frost is likely for much of the UK overnight on Friday and a more autumnal feel to daytime temperatures.

“A north-westerly flow of air is developing, bringing cooler Arctic air over the UK.

“Temperatures will drop into the weekend before the next low pressure system pushes across the country from the North Atlantic.

“This will bring the potential for some very wet and windy weather late on Sunday and into the start of next week.

“But there is much detail to be determined on the exact conditions so stay up to date with the latest forecast.”
