Expert reveals unlikely 99p hack that can help you get rid of mould – you probably already have it in the bathroom

AN EXPERT has revealed an unlikely 99p hack you can use to remove mould from your home, and you probably already have the product in your bathroom.

As the weather begins to get colder, condensation may begin to form on our windows, which, if left alone can allow mould to grow, which can lead to asthma attacks and skin rashes.

Mould can be tricky to get rid of[/caption]

Shaving foam is an unlikely method for preventing mould growth[/caption]

It can also destroy wallpaper, wood and drywall, which can lead to expensive repairs.

However, Emily Caloe, Senior Buyer at Vonhaus revealed that there is a simple hack to get rid of it.

She said: “Damp, humid environments are just the right breeding grounds for mould.

“This is compounded by poor ventilation, leaks, condensation and high humidity levels that all create the perfect conditions for mould spores, which can affect walls, ceilings, windows and other surfaces with unsightly stains and possible health hazards”.

Shaving Foam

Emily explained that shaving foam is an unlikely product which can stop mould from growing around windows.

She said: “Start by giving your windows a good clean.

“Spread a thin layer of shaving cream over the glass; this shaving cream will act as a barrier, reducing condensation—a major cause of mould growth on windows.

“Let the foam sit for a few minutes until the excess is wiped off, and then let it sit with a thin, clear layer left behind.”

Shaving foam is super cheap, and can be picked up for as little as 99p from Tesco.

Emily added that another simple hack you can use to banish mould is to use white vinegar.

Revealing her method, she said: “Mix one part vinegar with one part water in a spray bottle and apply the solution to the affected area.

“Wipe down with a clean, damp cloth.

“If there is a smell of vinegar, don’t worry—it will disappear within a few hours. And remember: always wear gloves and a mask when dealing with mould.”

What is mould and how to get rid of it?

Mould is more likely to grow during the winter months.

Olivia Young, Product Development Scientist at Astonish revealed exactly why this is.

“Unfortunately, mould is a common problem many people face during winter. It thrives in conditions that are warm and damp, so your bathrooms are likely to be the most affected place.

“That said, during the colder months most rooms in your home could be vulnerable to mould growing.

“This occurs primarily from condensation that builds up on your windows when you’ve got your radiators on.

“If you think about it, when windows and doors are closed, there’s not much chance for the air to circulate and the moisture to make a swift exit.

“This build up is what can cause dreaded mould to make an appearance, especially in bathrooms, as it creates that warm and wet environment that is a breeding ground for mould.

“If left untreated, not only is it unsightly but it can also pose a serious risk to your health, so it’s really important you treat it.

“The key to tackle mould is to act fast.

“Try to come into as little contact with it as you can. So, grab your gloves, tie up your hair and get to work to remove any signs of mould as soon as you notice them.

“To keep mould at bay, there are some simple solutions you can introduce throughout home.

“The first is keep it ventilated. Yes, even in the cold winter months try to leave your bathroom window open for at least 10/15 minutes post shower or bath. This will get rid of any excess moisture quickly preventing mould gathering.

“If you’re having a repeat problem with mould in one particular area, it might be because the humidity levels are too high. You can get a dehumidifier that will help keep the levels low and reduce the risk of mould returning.

“The golden rule to remember when dealing with mould is the quicker you can treat it, the better. If you leave it, it will only get worse so never ignore it!

“To successfully get rid of mould every time, I recommend opting for the UK’s No 1 Mould & Mildew Remover, that effectively removes mould and mildew stains almost instantly, with no scrubbing necessary.”

Black mould is a fungus that grows in warm, wet conditions such as in the bathroom.

Mould can build up for a number of reasons, such as leaking pipes, poor insulation or if condensation is not wiped away after you’ve had a shower.

It’s important to get rid of mould as it can cause many health problems.

According to the NHS, black mould can lead to asthma attacks, allergic reactions and infections.

When removing black mould, it is important to protect yourself by using rubber gloves and a mask that covers you nose and mouth.

I’ve slept with 40 celebs & married stars to get famous – I even had a baby with a footballer, blame the men not me

STARING at the spreadsheet on the laptop screen in front of her, Emmerald Barwise scanned the sea of numbers and dates in front of her.

This meticulously compiled colour-coded data set had taken her hundreds of hours to build – and was – she believed – the key to achieving her lifelong dream.

She openly admits that what she was after was fame[/caption]

But this wasn’t a monthly budget or stock market plan – it was a critical tool Emmerald, 34, originally from Manchester but who now lives in Wrexham, spent years compiling in a bid to achieve her dream of bagging a famous man – and having his baby.

Columns detailing the schedules of celebs like Tyson Fury and Lewis Hamilton – and tour dates of rappers like 50 Cent and Tyga – filled the page.

“I always knew I wanted to date a celebrity,” Emmerald tells the Sun.

“When I was 20 in 2010 I decided to start tracking schedules and appearances of the celebrities I thought I might like to date.

“I began to pay doormen for tips at the big clubs in Manchester like Circle, Paparazzi and The Press Club where I knew premier league footballers would hang out.

“I’d ask event organisers for information and details of actors’ tour dates and movie releases.

“I spent thousands of hours and thousands of pounds chasing celebrities.

“I didn’t care if they were single or married stars. I was desperate for a celebrity status, a celebrity wedding or a celebrity lovechild.”

“The aim was simple: marry a celeb or a football player and claim the wife title, or have a secret love child and get the ‘baby mamma’ title. I was obsessed with doing either.

“I know people will judge me. I don’t care. People are hypocrites. If you marry a celebrity you’re embraced. If you have a love child you’re disrespected. Blame the men, not me.”

Emmerald’s frank admissions come as Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl admitted he has fathered a love child with a woman who is not his wife.

Meanwhile married Manchester City footballer, Kyle Walker is back living with his wife and mother of his four children Annie Kilner after it was revealed he’d fathered two love children with model and influencer Lauryn Goodman.

“Like these women, I wanted fame,” Emmerald says.

“I saw the life women who dated celebrities or married them lived and I wanted that.

“Dancing or bedding a footballer or rapper meant you had ‘accesses. It meant you’ ‘mattered’. It was a confidence boost. It made me feel in control. It made me feel I was worthy.

Growing up in an affluent area, Emmerald quickly developed a taste for the high life[/caption]

“The Kardashians made a living out of bagging rich men. WAGs like Colleen Rooney were unknown until they nabbed a footballer and now live a lavish life in a multi-million-pound mansion. It means wealth and it means success.”

Emmerald was used to the champagne lifestyle having grown up in the leafy village of Worsley in Greater Manchester – which previously counted the likes of footballers Ryan Giggs and Marouane Fellani among its residents.

She attended the prestigious £14,000-a-year Bridgewater School where she mixed with the children of some of Manchester’s most successful business men and women and developed a taste for the high life.

“It started when I was 20 in 2010,” she says.

“I was working as a model and events planner. I thought I knew it all.

“My friends and I were young and good looking, and used to the finer things in life thanks to our parents.

“We went to clubs in Manchester and London specifically to find celebs.

“Mixing with footballers was fun – and even more so when they were paying for your drinks.

“My gal pals and I had a network of tipsters including makeup artists and bouncers who told us who was expected where and shared all the info on Whatsapp. It was a full-time job.

“I know which hotels they stayed at, which clubs they partied at and what people to contact to get invited to afterparties and VIP club events.”

Among those she followed were well-known rappers, Tyson Fury, Greg O’Shea, and a whole host of premier league footballers.

“I was on a mission,” she admits.

“Footballers are celebrated for going after a torment trophy. I wanted a different prize – money, celebrity status and marriage.

OTHER CELEBRITIES WITH LOVE CHILDREN

It isn't just Dave Grohl and Kyle Walker who have children outside of their marriages...

DAVID JASON

Sir David said he knew nothing about his daughter Abi Harris until recently.

But once he and his family got over the massive shock, they welcomed Abi, and her son Charlie, into their home.

Sir David – who played Del Boy in Only Fools and Horses – told The Mirror: “To say it was a surprise is an understatement.”

ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER

In 2011, it was revealed that in the 90s, Arnold Schwarzenegger, 75, had a secret child with his family’s maid, Mildred Baena.

For more than a decade the Terminator star-turned-politician managed to keep the identity of his son a secret.

The former California governor himself only found out about son Joseph Baena when he was eight years old.

Arnie finally confessed all to his wife Maria Shriver, with whom he shares four children, during a couples therapy session.

The affair was cited as the reason Maria moved out of their family home and filed for divorce.

He now has a good relationship with his son, who has followed in his footsteps to become an actor and bodybuilder.

GAVIN ROSSDALE

Daisy Lowe never knew that Bush lead singer Gavin Rossdale, 57, was her father until she turned 14.

The 34-year-old daughter of fashion designer Pearl Lowe had thought her dad was her mum’s ex, fertility specialist Bronner Handwerger.

But she had questions when she discovered neither of her parents shared her O-type blood and asked for a paternity test.

Daisy then discovered that her godfather Gavin, who was married to Gwen Stefani, was her biological dad.

After the initial revelation Gavin cut off all contact with Pearl and Daisy, but they’ve since healed their rift and are now in a much better place.

CLINT EASTWOOD

Hollywood legend Clint Eastwood, 92, is known for having had several affairs over the years.

In 1972, he met married actress and director Sondra Locke and the pair moved in together while he was still married to Neville Johnson.

But while cohabitating with Sondra he had two children, Scott and Kathryn, with flight attendant Jocelyn Reeves but rejected taking responsibility for them.

It was only in the mid-2000s – 30 years later – that Clint admitted he was their dad.

Now Scott and Kathryn, who is a successful actress and writer, have a much better relationship with him and have often appeared alongside him at red carpet events.

EDDIE MURPHY

Eddie Murphy dated Spice Girls singer Mel B in 2006 after his divorce from his wife Nicole.

But when Mel got pregnant at the start of their relationship, Eddie, now 61, was reluctant to take responsibility for the pregnancy.

He said in an interview: “I don’t know whose child that is until it comes out and has a blood test. You shouldn’t jump to conclusions.”

After a bitter court battle, a DNA test confirmed that he was the father of Angel Iris Murphy Brown, now 15, and Eddie was ordered to pay £35,000 a month in child support until she reaches 18.

STEVE JOBS

When Apple co-founder Steve Jobs’ high school sweetheart Chrisann Brennan told him she was pregnant in 1977, he denied responsibility, leading to their split.

He had already founded the company, now worth billions, but she was forced to support herself by cleaning houses.

After baby Lisa was born, he publicly denied he was the father and continued to do so even after a paternity test proved otherwise.

Years after he left Apple, Steve attempted to reconcile with his daughter and apologised to her and her mum for his behaviour.

But Lisa said in her biography that their relationship remained strained as he was distant, cold, and made her feel unwanted.

The billionaire tech boss died in 2011 after being diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2003 and left her a multi-million dollar inheritance.

STEVE TYLER

American actress Liv Tyler had no idea her dad was legendary Aerosmith singer Steven Tyler until the age of 10.

Her mum and Todd Rundgren, member of the band Utopia, had been in an on-off relationship but she had a brief fling with Steven in 1976, and she fell pregnant with Liv.

Todd agreed to raise Liv as his own as at the time, even though he was no longer with Bebe, Steven was battling drug addiction.

But Liv, now 45, began to suspect something was amiss when she noticed her striking resemblance to Steven’s daughter Mia.

After confronting her mother, she came clean without hesitation and told her the truth.

Today Steven and Liv share a close bond, but she also has a great relationship with her adoptive dad Todd.

LIAM GALLAGHER

Former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher had a fling with American journalist Liza Ghorbani after she interviewed him for a New York Times feature in 2010.

She fell pregnant, and when their daughter Gemma was born in 2013, she sued him for £1.9million for unpaid child support.

It was reported that the saga broke up his marriage to All Saints star Nicole Appleton – they divorced in April 2014.

Liam, 50, and Liza finally reached an out of court settlement in March 2015 – the day it was set to go before a Manhattan court.

Speaking to The Daily Telegraph, Liam later admitted: “The stuff that happened was my own doing. S*** happens, and I apologise. I’ve hurt a lot of people, but that’s life.”

Liam also has another lovechild called Molly – the result of an affair with Kill City lead singer Lisa Moorish while he was married to actress Patsy Kensit.

In February 2018, Liam confessed to not having met Molly and told The Mirror: “I’ve just never got around to meeting her.

“I’ve heard she’s all right, though. She’s doing all right. I never heard anything that she wanted to meet me.”

Molly has since shared snaps of her with her dad on Instagram, and in 2019 Liam wrote a song called Now That I’ve Found You about his formerly estranged daughter.

CHUCK NORRIS

In 1963, Chuck Norris fathered a daughter called Dina DiCiolli – the result of an extramarital affair with a woman called Johanna while married to his first wife Dianne Holchek.

At the time, the 83-year-old actor never told her he was married and didn’t know she’d fallen pregnant until Dina wrote to him in 1991.

Chuck has said he did not need a DNA test to confirm he was her father and had an emotional meeting with her and her mum.

JUDE LAW

In 2009, fans of actor Jude Law, 50, were shocked to learn that he was set to become a dad after a fling with American model Samantha Burke.

They are said to have met in New York when he was filming Sherlock Holmes, and she was a Hooters waitress.

According to The Telegraph, Jude – then a dad-of-three – asked for a paternity test in order to be “100 per cent certain” that the baby, called Sophia, was really his.

They met for the first time when Sophia was five months old, and are now said to have a good relationship.

In 2014 it emerged Jude, then 41, was expecting another love child with wannabe actress and singer Catherine Harding, then 23.

Catherine, also known as Cat Cavelli, gave birth to a daughter, Ada, in March 2015. She claimed she is friends with the actor.

TOM JONES

In his biography, Sir Tom Jones admitted to sleeping with around 250 women a year at the peak of his highly successful career.

Tom, 82, was married to Melinda Trenchard from 1957 until her death in 2016 but had several affairs.

One of those resulted in the birth of a son, Jonathan Berkery, whose mother is a model called Katherine.

In 1989 the pair were involved in a legal battle over his paternity, but a DNA test proved that Tom was indeed the daddy.

He then agreed to pay £1,700 in child maintenance until his 18th birthday but has only acknowledged him once during an interview in 2008.

In 2018, Jonathan, who had fallen on hard times, said he did not want anything from his father and only craved his recognition.

“I spent thousands paying for tips from doormen and bouncers slipping them fifties to get access to private events.

“A crisp twenty to a private driver and a bit of flirting would get me information about who they were picking up.

“If I couldn’t get tips, I’d find out where they lived by meticulously analysing their posts and pictures on social media.

“Then, I’d devise ways to ‘accidentally’ run into them or gain entry to the parties they were attending.

“I spent thousands on clothes, designer handbags, trains, cars and flights being a high-end groupie chasing my dream.

“Competition was tough. All the women are glamorous. To get noticed you had to be at a VIP or seated at a front table.

“I was willing to do the research, invest in information and spend on expensive clothes like Versace and Louboutins to show I fitted in and to get noticed.

“I wanted to be the most popular girl on the scene. I targeted minor celebrities and young footballers first and that got you through the door.

“That gives you credibility and then you can work your way up the celebrity ladder. It sounds brutal but that’s what it’s about.”

The process quickly became a full time job for Emmerald.

“By 2017 when I was 26  I was spending nearly 100 hours a month trying to meet and bed celebrities,” she says.

“Normal blokes didn’t interest me.

“I got high dancing with a celebrity or chatting up a footballer. You can bask in the glow, and anything is possible.

“One time, I met a big American rapper. He loved my accent and my confidence. He’d fly me to the US for holidays and parties.”

As well as constant networking and tracking celebrity movements Emmerald says sliding into a star’s ‘DMs’ – direct messages on Instagram – was another ploy in her celebrity hunting arsenal.

She explains: “You like some of their posts. Add a sexy comment and send a suggestive DM.

“I’d do this hundreds of times. You always get a few bites.

“Or you meet at a party and then hit them up on their socials. Men love online flirting and sexting .

“I realised early on that stars love to be told how amazing they are. They love the attention and even if they are not good in bed you tell them they are gods.”

And it seems that Emmerald’s hardwork paid off.

“During my celebrity hunting years I slept with more than forty famous men,” she says.

“I had one night stands or longer flings. I loved sex and I love bagging a celebrity. There is nothing wrong with that

“I wasn’t a slut. I was embracing my sexuality. I am proud of that – so don’t even think of trolling me.

“I have been given designer clothes, designer handbags, shoes and given credit cards to go on shopping sprees by my boyfriends,

“Many were married or had long-term girlfriends. But I didn’t feel bad for the wives and girlfriends.

“Many of the women had met their men the same way I was hooking up with celebrities. They are not stupid.”

I was suddenly dropped.  He blocked my calls, and he called in lawyers

Emmerald Barwise

It was in 2017 that Emmerald’s partying came to a close.

“I’d been dating a top footballer with a long-term girlfriend of over a year,” she says.

“I chased him, even moved into the area he lived, and we started hooking up.

“I discovered I was pregnant in 2017 and he was the father. We’d been hooking up for almost six months.

“I’ve achieved my goal. But It wasn’t a happy ending. All of a sudden being pregnant changed my outlook overnight.

“I told him I was having his baby and thought he’d be overjoyed and make it official. The exact opposite happened.

“I was suddenly dropped.  He blocked my calls, and he called in lawyers.

“He didn’t care about me or the baby. He was more worried about his career and reputation.

“The hate turned me into a mother lioness. I felt used. I felt abused. I didn’t want the life I’d been living.

“He didn’t offer money to help me. He made it clear he’d do whatever it took to distance himself from me. He called me a s**t.

“I knew the legal wranglings would be messy and horrible so I signed an agreement not to mention his name or his club. I felt sick. I agreed but made it clear he didn’t own me.

“I took my power back, and I became a mother. Giving birth to my daughter in December 2017 was one of my proudest moments.

“I don’t regret having my daughter. She is a true blessing, and she grounded me.

“Now, seven years on, I do regret my desire to spend, spend and chase famous fellas.

“I know I spent over £5000 on clubs, travel clothes and paying for tips. I regret that. I had some amazing times and still have celebrity mates. But I regret behaving like I knew it all.

“Since then, I’ve changed my life and I’ve opened my own model agency and am happily raising my daughter, now seven.

“My focus is now on my daughter and my business. I’ve grown up and no longer want to be that girl.”

Ultra-luxury £150million superyacht inspired by a SHARK up for sale with ‘flying’ viewing deck & glass swimming pool

AN ULTRA-luxury superyacht inspired by a hammerhead shark could be yours for £150 million.

A state-of-the-art Feadship Concept C features a “flying” viewing deck where shipmates can recreate the iconic Titanic pose like Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio.

The superyacht has also redesigned the way people can travel through floors with a moving platform in the centre of the ship[/caption]

The eco-friendly superyacht boasts an infinity pool, a spa, a gym, a bar and a fancy seating area that can move to different levels at the touch of a button.

There are two main staterooms, each with bathrooms, dressing rooms, and sitting rooms.

Guests can also choose from five double bedrooms, while there are nine rooms for staff.

The 246 ft, three-storey yacht is electric but can still travel at 19 knots – 20mph.

A Feadship spokesperson said: “Additional electrical power will be generated by one pair of narrow wave-actuated fins that fold out from the hull aft of the anchors.

“Extending horizontally from the hull, the look, if imagined from above, would be like the outline of a hammerhead shark.

“The fins are connected to permanent magnet rotors that create DC electrical energy directly to the micro-DC grid onboard.”

The luxury vessel has re-imagined the way people travel between floors, making it more seamless.

The Feadship spokesperson added: “Imagine being transported between decks without stepping into the confines of an elevator.

“No matter how nicely decorated, an elevator creates a disconnect from one floor to the next.

“C introduces a seamless transition between the decks via a dramatic central court that keeps them visually and literally connected like a three-dimensional chess board.

“Instead of stepping into an isolated lift capsule, at the touch of a button a neat, hexagon shaped seating area gently moves to deposit you seamlessly at your desired level with no break in the conversation.

“The lifting mechanism can also swivel 180 degrees to accommodate the split-level decks and place passengers nearer their destination.

“Take it to the top and the skylight automatically opens revealing a private crow’s nest. It sounds like a movie special effect, but it’s possible.”

Senior designer Ruud Bakker was inspired by the Amsterdam diamond cutting workshop of Gassan Diamonds.

The stunning glass design comes from a study of diamonds and how they spread light.

The spokesperson added: “Also inspiring were examples of cutting-edge architecture with zero boundary facades blurring the line between indoors and out.

“The designers used these concepts to amplify guest contact with the sea, a relationship that owners note sadly tends to fade as yachts get larger.”
