Eagle-eyed EastEnders fans ‘work out’ serial killer is returning to BBC soap after noticing giveaway clue

EASTENDERS fans are convinced wicked serial killer Grat Atkins is returning to Walford after eagle-eyed viewers spotted a giveaway clue on social media.

Gray’s (Toby-Alexander Smith) crimes finally caught up with him in March 2022. He attempted to jump off a bridge to avoid paying for his murder spree but was stopped by Whitney (Shona McGarty) and arrested.

But he has been mentioned a lot in the soap in recent weeks – does this spell a return?[/caption]

As EastEnders fans will recall, Gray got away with murdering his wife Chantelle (Jessica Kate Plummer) after years of abuse, as well as killing, Tina Carter (Luisa Bradshaw-White), Kush Kazemi (Davood Ghadami) and abusing his new wife Chelsea (Zaraah Abrahams), for over two years before he was finally arrested.

Although he was sentenced to a lengthy prison stay, soap fans are convinced he could be back on the Square sooner than expected.

Speculation about his explosive return comes after actor Toby-Alexander said he wanted to return to the BBC soap.

Teasing a possible return during an interview with Metro.co.uk, the actor said: “I mean, I’m waiting for the phone to ring. If it does, great! I want to know what he’s up to!”

Additionally, new EastEnders boss Ben Wadley, who was officially appointed yesterday, has started following the former soap star on Instagram

Pointing out the coincidental timing on X, formerly Twitter, one fan posted a gif of Sharon (Letitia Dean) looking suspicious and wrote: “Toby-Alexander Smith wants to return and Ben Wadey follows him on Instagram.”

“I’d love to see a comeback,” added another.

The villainous lawyer has been mentioned a number of times on the BBC soap in recent weeks as he’s continued to make moves off-screen.

In one notable scene, Chelsea and Bernie got a huge shock when they discovered a ‘For Sale’ sign at No.1, realising that Gray is selling up.

The current occupants include Chelsea, Bernie Taylor (Clair Norris), Felix Baker (Matthew Morrison) and Jordan Fox, son of Chelsea and Gray.

It’s currently unclear how Gray could return to the soap, but all the familiar faces returning to Walford ahead of the London-based soap’s 40th anniversary prove that anything is possible.

Chrissie Watts (Tracy-Ann Oberman) and Jane Beale (Laurie Brett) had already caused drama as they rocked up on the Square in recent weeks, meanwhile further castings like Ruby Allen (Louisa Lytton) and David Wicks (Michael French) have also been announced.

While some viewers are convinced Toby-Alexander’s name will also make its way onto this list, others hope they never see his murderous character on the streets of Walford again.

“All these Gray mentions lately better not be hinting at a return. I never want to see that man again,” one viewer urged.

Helen Flanagan sends fans wild as she shares a kiss with Hollyoaks star Emma Rigby

HELEN Flanagan has driven fans wild as she shared a steamy kiss with Hollyoaks star Emma Rigby.

The Coronation Street star, 34, enjoyed a night out with good pal Emma, 35, as they celebrated her birthday on Thursday.

Helen looked glamourous in a black skintight dress with sheer sleeves, with her blonde hair in loose waves.

Emma, who reprised her role as Hannah Ashworth on Hollyoaks last year before quitting the show this summer, looked stunning in a ruched off-the-shoulder mini frock.

The pair showed their love for each other by puckering up for a friendly smooch in the toilets on their night out.

Helen also took to social media to share a string of throwback snaps from over the years with her pal.

In one photo, the duo looked unrecognisable while on a night out, with Helen showcasing darker tresses and a beige wrap dress.

In June, The Sun exclusively revealed that actress Emma had resigned from the Channel 4 soap less than a year after her high profile return.

She is said to have walked away over changes to the show.

Emma originally starred as Hannah between 2005 until 2010 and had huge storylines like her eating disorder and doomed relationship with John Paul McQueen.

This time Hannah has been seen to be working as a sex worker to scam men of their money.

When she first returned in November, 13 years after originally quitting in 2010, Hollyoaks aired five nights a week on Channel 4 and E4.

But since then budget cuts at the corporation has seen the episode order slashed to just three 20 minute episodes per week and a mass cull of cast and crew.

It will even now feature a dramatic year-long time jump in September to explain the huge changes to the cast and relaunch the show as a three-nights a week soap.

However those changes – as well as storyline changes – mean that Emma has decided to leave the show again.

A source said: “It just wasn’t working out for Emma.

“She agreed a long-term return with certain expectations but that all changed. She’s a professional through and through but the changes were too much so she decided to walk away.”

EMMA’S EXIT

Emma’s original return was for a short stint but then she returned in March for a much-heralded permanent return.

An insider added: “There’s a worry other high profile cast members may see this as an opportunity to leave the show.

“While they’re all very supportive of the soap, the reduced budget and seeing friends and colleagues leave after so many years takes its toll.

“If more go willingly then it may be that the writing is very much on the wall for the show. It will be hard to recover from further blows.”

Anthony Joshua has ‘gone backwards’ and ‘hasn’t got right team around him’ says Brit boxing legend who wants BIG changes

ANTHONY JOSHUA needs a “big shakeup” because he’s gone “backwards” with the wrong team around him, claims Carl Froch.

Joshua, 34, suffered a devastating knockout loss to Daniel Dubois in five rounds in front of a British-record 98,000 fans last week at Wembley.

And boxing legend Froch insists big changes are in order if AJ wants a rematch with Dubois as he hasn’t evolved since leaving former trainer Rob McCracken.

The Brit star, though, is not ruling out a major comeback and a third world heavyweight championship for Joshua.

Froch said on his YouTube channel Froch on Fighting: “My point is, he’s gone backwards since leaving Rob McCracken.

“And if he’s gonna move forward and come back and have a rematch with Daniel Dubois then I don’t think he’s got the right team around him.

“He needs a big shakeup in the team, he needs to make changes and – before that – get his head right and then go for it because he’s in the twilight of his career now

“I’m not saying he can’t come back and he can’t go on to become a three-time world champion but it’s gonna be a tough mountain to climb.”

Froch also criticised Joshua’s trainer Ben Davidson’s “very strange” advice after the fourth round.

Davidson told Joshua: “He’s rush stepping in with the jab almost every time unless you’re galloping around.

“Slip or bring it up. In behind that double jab, bring it up, roll the dice. Roll the dice!”

Froch is adamant that was the wrong advice as it put Joshua in a very dangerous position.

The former world champion added: “At the end of round four, he sat down in his corner and the advice from Ben Davidson was very strange.

“Ben Davidson told him to roll the dice, told him to go for it, he wanted AJ to look for the uppercut on his front foot, which is a dangerous punch.

“Because when you throw the uppercut at range you leave your chin exposed.”

Froch doubled down on his criticism of Davidson insisting his idea to “roll the dice” was “stupid”.

The Nottingham bruiser is adamant you can’t follow that tactic against a “big puncher” like Dubois.

Froch added: “That’s why the ‘roll the dice’ in round five was a stupid idea, because you’re not going to roll the dice against someone who is a big puncher.

“All the heavyweights bang, but Daniel Dubois is known for being an absolute tank with that right hand, if he hits them you see the effect. Anthony Joshua looked like he had been tasered.”

Joshua is heading for a rematch with Dubois, who also appears keen, and the fight could take place in Saudi Arabia.
