Desperate hunt for patient who escaped mental health facility five days ago as cops urge public to stay away
POLICE are appealing for help to find a man who escaped a mental health facility five days ago.
Terrence Mayes, 41, has been on the run since September 22 after he disappeared from a secure mental facility in Southall, London.
He had been detained at the facility under the Mental Health Act.
Despite an extensive investigation, officers have been unable to locate Terrence Mayes and are now appealing for the public’s help.
He has links to Wembley, and it is thought likely that he will be in the west London or north-west London areas.
Contact the police if you believe you have seen him, know where he is, or have any information that might help officers to locate him.

Andy Reid’s strong message about Taylor Swift ‘distracting’ Travis Kelce after official decision on benching Chiefs star
ANDY REID has sent a strong message about claims Travis Kelce is being distracted by popstar girlfriend Taylor Swift.
The Kansas City Chiefs tight end has had a poor start to the 2024-25 NFL season.
He has not had his usual productivity, despite the Super Bowl champions being 3-0 for the year.
Kelce could be seen visibly miserable on the sidelines during their 22-17 win at the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday.
And there have been claims from fans and analysts his poor form is down to his summer of love with Swift.
He spent the offseason traveling around the world, following her Eras Tour and partying away.
This led to criticism at the time, and has been pinpointed as a reason he has just eight catches and 69 yards for the season.
But Chiefs head coach Reid has made it clear that is not the case, and he has not been distracted.
“I know people are saying that he’s old or that he has distractions, but defenses don’t think that,” Reid said.
“Trav is fine. He just keeps being Trav.
“He works his tail off. He hasn’t lost a step.
“He’s not distracted.”
Kelce also opened up on the situation on a recent episode of his New Heights podcast with brother Jason.
There has even been calls for him to be benched by the Chiefs, and replaced by backup Noah Gray.
“I played like trash,” Kelce said.
“I think everyone saw my drop in the fourth quarter and the crucial third down, just trying to do too much before putting the ball away.
'Well-talked-about personal life'
Travis Kelce was asked about his relationship with Taylor Swift during an interview with Good Morning America.
But the Kansas City Chiefs tight end gave a cagey response.
“When you have good family and friends around you, it makes that aspect of life that much easier,” Kelce told GMA.
“I’ve always been a very grounded guy. It might not come off that way when I’m playing football.
“But off the field, I just want to be a genuine person. I try not to get too far down the road.
“Because you never know what opportunities are going to present themselves.”
“That’s probably the biggest thing for me is making the play in big-time moments like that.
“I think with how defenses are playing us right now.
“I’m not really getting a lot of opportunities to make plays down the field, but not using that as an excuse.
“Moving forward, still trying to make sure I can help the team out in that regard knowing I’ve been that weapon for us in the past.”
The Chiefs take on the Los Angeles Chargers this weekend, to try and take their record to 4-0.

JEOPARDY! fans have been left heartbroken after a beloved contestant’s winning streak came to an end.
Puzzle designer David Erb had been aiming to win his fourth successive game.
It was ultimately not to be, as he fell short to new champion Maddie Carwile.
Fans were certainly upset to see David go – and hoped for his return – as they took to the show’s Reddit forum.
One wrote: “David had an impressive run. We hope to see him again later this season in the TOC.”
A second person agreed, commenting: “David was a great player, ran into a couple of other great players and a little bad luck.
“Hope we see him again. Three games? Maybe.”
A third remarked: “I’m hoping he gets an exception to join, bcos he’s pretty good. Racked up $30k 3 games after DJ! but it’s a shame his 4th didn’t go his way.”
While a fourth said: “He is scary smart, but he’s 74 years old. It catches up to you.”
A fifth chimed in: “Farewell David. I had a lot of respect for your bold, Daily Double wagers.”
A fellow viewer said they were “devastated” about David’s loss, but acknowledged Maddie and fellow player Alex Michev had been strong competition.
During his time on Jeopardy!, fans learned that the Seattle native has a famous spouse.
He is married to author Bonnie Garmus, who wrote the bestselling book Lessons in Chemistry.
Last year, the novel was adapted into an Apple TV+ miniseries starring Brie Larson as Elizabeth Zott.
Meanwhile, some fans noticed David’s resemblance to an iconic film star.
Jeopardy! Contestant Rules
Passing Jeopardy!'s online Anytime Test is hard enough, but there are also many rules players must follow once they make it to the stage:
- The returning champion is always at the leftmost podium and keeps playing until they lose.
- Contestants don’t have to say “who is” or “what is” in the first round but must do so in Double Jeopardy! and Final Jeopardy.
- Contestants can change their responses as long as Ken Jennings or the judges haven’t made a ruling.
- The minimum wager for a Daily Double is $5. The minimum wager for Final Jeopardy! is $0.
- Written responses in Final Jeopardy! do not have to be spelled correctly, but they must be phonetically correct (the judges decide this).
- If there’s a tie after Final Jeopardy, the tied players enter a bonus clue shootout, and whoever buzzes in first correctly wins.
- If all three contestants wager everything in Final Jeopardy! and are incorrect, leaving them with $0, there will be no returning champion (it’s happened before—six times).
Referencing his gray beard and hair, as well as his chiseled facial features, they said he “looks exactly like” a younger version of Clint Eastwood.
One wrote on X: “Is it just me or does David on #Jeopardy remind anyone else of a young Clint Eastwood?”

TRAVIS Kelce is off to the worst start to an NFL season of his career, and his stats may have been signaling an incoming decline.
Travis Kelce has yet to score a touchdown this season, and Kelce may be close to being benched.
Through the first three games of this season, Kelce has only caught eight passes for 69 yards.
For some reason, he hasn’t been able to form his trademark connection with quarterback Patrick Mahomes, and the Chiefs offense looks lackluster compared to their last two Super Bowl years.
While Kelce’s regression may seem sudden, there may have been some signs of his age playing a factor.
Kelce is in his age-35 season, and he was already starting to show signs of slowing down.
Last season, Kelce didn’t cross the 1,000-yard mark for the first time since 2015. He finished with 984 yards.
He also had his lowest touchdown total since 2019 in the 2023 campaign, finishing with just five scores.
Kelce finished that season with 984 yards and five touchdowns. He still made the Pro Bowl, but it was one of the lesser years of his career.
The tight end wasn’t named to an All-Pro team for the first time since 2015, and now he is likely going to miss out on both the Pro Bowl and the All-Pro team.
Kelce isn’t too worried about his lack of production, saying that he’s just happy to help the team win, but he also admitted it’s less fun to play football without scoring.
“I’ve had a lot of catches in this league, man,” Kelce said.
“I’m not worried about the catches and the yards, and all of that. I have the most fun when I get the ball thrown my way, I mean, who doesn’t?
“It has everything to do with execution and just making sure we’re doing everything we can to win these football games. That’s always going to be the goal.
“I think everyone saw my drop in the fourth quarter and the crucial third down, just trying to do too much before putting the ball away.”
Mahomes has also given his tight end a vote of confidence, saying he is going to keep feeding him opportunities.

“I mean, the respect factor they have for Travis is still unreal, and it’s well deserved,” he said.
