Brit boxer victim of ‘hit and run’ PAINT attack before losing fight as she accuses rival of setting up stunt
BRITISH boxer Sandy Ryan was hit with a can of PAINT before losing her WBO welterweight world title on Friday.
Ryan has now claimed that the stunt was an obvious “set up” from American rival Mikaela Mayer’s team.
Tensions had been high prior to the fight, with Mayer accusing Ryan of poaching her long-standing coaching team, which the Brit denied.
But the rivalry escalated when Ryan was splashed with red paint before leaving her hotel ahead of the fight.
The paint left a huge trail on her hip and sport leggings.
Ryan took the ring at Madison Square Garden as scheduled, despite being advised by her trainer to pull out of the bout.
But the Derby-born boxer subsequently lost her world title on a majority decision.
Ryan, who was defending her title for the third time, said the paint incident “unsettled” her and believes it contributed to her narrow loss.
She said: “I’m obviously disappointed, and I’m not taking anything away from the decision.
“But before coming to the venue, I had a hit and run with paint. And that was definitely set up.”

Mayer, 34, said she was “shocked” to hear about the incident and that it had nothing to do with her or her team.
Two scorecards read 97-93 and 96-94 for Mayer, while a third judge saw it a 95-95 draw.
It leaves Ryan to pick up the pieces of her second defeat and yet another miserable title defence in the United States.
Ryan fought in Florida last September and a split decision draw with Jessica McCaskill prevented her becoming a unified champ.

A WOMAN has been savagely slammed for her ‘inappropriate’ wedding guest dress.
The young woman explained that she ordered a new dress for an upcoming wedding, but was told by people that it looked ‘too revealing’.
As a result, ahead of the nuptials, the fashionista took to social media to ask for advice, leaving many open-mouthed.
But much to her surprise, many thought the dress was “too boobalicious” and “inappropriate” for a wedding.
Posting on Reddit, on the r/fashion thread, the young woman, who writes under the username @BloodedMermaid, shared a snap of her posing in the dress.
She wore the long-sleeve, short mini dress, which has a plunge neckline.
Alongside the snap of the blue, floral frock, which has a tie detail at the front, the woman titled her post ‘Inappropriate for a wedding?’
The brunette beauty paired her dress with a strappy pair of heels and had her long legs and large breasts on display.
She then wrote: “So I got this new dress and wanted to wear it for a wedding.
“But a few people told me that my cleavage was too revealing.”
Confused by the negative comments about her pretty, floaty dress, the curly-haired girl questioned: “What do you think?”
Reddit users flocked to the comments to share their thoughts on the dress, with many totally stunned at the frock.
Not only did people think it was “too short” but others were concerned that the woman would be taking away too much attention from the bride and groom with the short dress.
One person said: “Too short and too boobalicious.”

Dos and don’ts of wedding dress codes

Josie Griffiths said: I’ll never forget the wedding I went to in October 2022 where a guest wore a white dress.
It was ill-fitting, knee length and looked nothing like an actual wedding dress, but that didn’t stop everyone judging her.
The rules on wedding guest outfits – which are annoyingly loads stricter for women than they are for men – are meant to be about “not upstaging the bride”, which in reality is quite hard to do on someone else’s wedding day.
But if you get it wrong as a guest, you do end up looking a bit silly, and in front of loads of people who don’t know you personally.
It’s just not the occasion for your new white dress, as much as online stores love dumping them in the ‘wedding guest’ section.
I’d avoid anything too tight/short, and ditch super formal gowns unless the dress code calls for them – you don’t want to be in a full length sequin gown at a smart casual event.
Personally I don’t like black dresses either, it isn’t a funeral.
Otherwise you should be pretty safe. Technically wearing red means you’re in love with the groom, but that’s the kind of rule most people would scoff at nowadays.
I do always check what colour the bridesmaids are in, just to be safe, after the Spanish wedding where I watched them walk down the aisle in the exact same dress I’d had in my Asos shopping basket just weeks earlier.
If in doubt, safest to just double check with the bride… but if you’re already doubting your dress that might be all the answer you need.
Whilst someone else penned: “I’m shocked you have to ask, it’s too low cut and too short.”
At the same time, one user snapped: “Definitely looks like an outfit that I’ve seen an ex-girlfriend of the groom wear to a wedding to show off what he’s going to be missing.”
Not only this, but another user simply penned: “Attention seeking.”
If that wasn’t bad enough, one horrified person wrote: “Way too revealing and in the poorest taste for a wedding. The fabric looks cheap.
“Overall, it would be more attractive and sexier if you don’t put everything on display.”

CAMERON MENZIES says that girlfriend Fallon Sherrock has “bigger balls” than him and he owes all his success to her!
The wacky Scottish star has been at the top of the PDC form guides for most of 2024 after several high-class displays.
Menzies, 35, continued his outstanding performances with a 6-3 win over Jonny Clayton in the Swiss Darts Trophy on Friday.
He revealed: “She helps me tremendously in my career. When we were dating in the beginning, I was in Scotland a lot and she was in England.
“But we often played against each other by video calling during practice sessions. And we still do practice together a lot.
“Honestly: without her I wouldn’t be where I am today. She also keeps pressing me to train because we both get lazy if we don’t practice.
“Who is the better of the two of us? I think I’m a tad better, but she’s better on stage when you’re in the spotlight. She just handles that better.
“Yes … she has bigger balls than me. I’m getting better at it, but when it comes down to the marbles in an important match Fallon performs better. Hopefully one day I can keep up with her level in that area.”
Rangers-daft Menzies continues to work as a plumber but he still hopes to quit in the future to turn professional full-time.
He added: “I actually always wanted to become a darts player. Or no, I’m lying. I dreamed of a career as a professional football player, but if you look at my physique then you see that that dream could quickly go into the bin.

“So my plan B worked out well, though, even though I’m still working full-time at the moment.”
Menzies also confesses that he finally believed he was good leading up to the last World Championship.
He said: “I was throwing my darts at home like I had never thrown them before.
“Okay, practice sessions are not the same as a match but still, it was unbelievably good, I didn’t know I could do that.
“It sometimes shocked myself because I was really throwing 110 average regularly in a very short period of time.
“At one point I said to myself, ‘Jesus man, you’re actually pretty good at this sport!’
“And that has continued over the past few months, even though I haven’t immediately changed anything about how I train or throw or think.
“It’s just: what I do at home, I now also do more often on the floor and even sometimes on a stage. That is, for me, a small miracle.”

As a fierce competitor who earned the nickname ‘The Giant Slayer’, her journey through figure, physique, and powerlifting has redefined what it means to dominate the world of women’s bodybuilding, ending in her remarkable performances at the Ms. Olympia competition.
Angela C. Yeo is an American bodybuilder, powerlifter, and former professional figure and physique contestant.
She was born on July 23, 1984, in Temperance, Michigan.
Angela’s journey in sports began early, supported by a solid academic background.
After graduating from Bedford Senior High School, she pursued studies at Eastern Michigan University.
