Kieran Trippier baffles commentator as he ‘goes for the Assou-Ekotto look’ in Newcastle vs Man City clash

KIERAN TRIPPIER has left fans and commentators baffled after making a bizarre boot tweak mid-game.

The 34-year-old was in action for Newcastle as they faced Manchester City at St James’ Park this afternoon.

Fans were left baffled by the unique look[/caption]

Trippier started in a pair of bright orange Adidas boots – but he then gestured to the dugout for a change.

At the next break in play, with just 16 minutes on the clock, the England right-back came to the sidelines to switch boots.

But he bizarrely only changed the one on his right foot to a Puma purple and pink boot.

Trippier then played the rest of the half in an odd pair that left TNT Sports commentator Darren Fletcher confused.

He said during the coverage: “He’s going for the odd boot look. Perhaps a new trend in the Premier League.”

Fans were also baffled, with one commenting: “Odd boots that is mental.”

Another added: “Is Trippier wearing one Puma boot and one Adidas boot?????”

A third commented: “Crazy fit.”

Trippier then changed his left boot to match his right’s purple and pink boot at half-time.

The strange look has seen him be compared to ex-Tottenham star Benoit Assou-Ekotto because he used to play in different boots.

The eccentric former defender, who used to travel around London on the tube during his Prem days, said: “I bought two pairs – one blue and one white.

“After three days, one of them split; and because I don’t have a sponsor, I wasn’t going to throw away a shoe that is brand new.

“So I took one of the other colour and played like that.”

The ‘easy’ hair buy that Molly-Mae swears by for a perfect slick-back look despite ‘2,000 people’ trolling her for it

She shared an “easy” tutorial for fans on her YouTube channel[/caption]

In recent years, she has been opting for slick-back styles that keep her blonde tresses out of her face.

And now, she has shared a new buy that she says is a “great little product” for keeping flyaways and baby hairs under control.

The Smooth Company’s flagship Smooth Stick is designed to tame your mane – and that’s exactly what Molly-Mae uses it for.

The mum-of-one shared how she only came across the product when it was given to her by a hairdresser.

Now, she’s made it a permanent fixture in her beauty arsenal for securing her sleek hairstyles in place.

“It’s like a baby hair wand,” she said while demonstrating the product on YouTube

“I actually sometimes do this anyway with my eyebrow gels if I’ve ever got flyaways.

“Technically, this is the same thing – you could use this on your brows too.

“This is a great little product to keep in your handbag if you like doing slick-back hairstyles.”

Even Molly-Mae’s older sister Zoe Rae, 28, uses the Smooth Stick, she added.

The Smooth Stick will set you back £15 and is available to purchase on The Smooth Company’s website.

A blurb on the product reads: “We were put on this earth to help end all of your flyaway hair and baby hair nightmares.

“We’ve all been there and can confirm there is nothing worse.

“So, we created an effective, easy to use solution for everyone, while also looking after your hair!

“One simple flick of the Smooth Stick will help tame your hairs and keep them in place all day long.

“Whether it’s a flawless finishing touch or the final step in a sleek up-do, you can say goodbye to hairspray and gel.

“Your hair’s new BFF is here!”

In the same video, Molly-Mae admitted that she’d seen thousands of people telling her she needs to ditch her signature slicked back bun.

She said: “I saw a TikTok the other day saying some girls need to be told that the slick-back bun does not look good on them.

“And the comments were all saying, ‘someone needs to tell Molly-Mae about this’ and the comment got like 2,000 likes.

“I was like, ‘that’s me never doing my favourite hairstyle ever again then!'”

However, Molly-Mae went on to assure fans that she “really likes” the way the sleek style looks on her, and she doesn’t plan to pander to the criticism.
