My windows are covered in condensation now it’s got colder – luckily a 65p Mrs Hinch-approved buy absorbs moisture

A WOMAN has revealed that now the weather has got colder, her windows are covered in condensation.

Not only this, but she confessed that her curtains also have mould and damp on them too, as a result of the change in temperature.

The anonymous woman also confessed that as a result of the weather taking a turn, her curtains were now riddled with mould[/caption]

But cleaning enthusiasts claimed that table salt is the answer to battling mould and condensation[/caption]

Keen for advice on how to fix the problem, the anonymous woman took to social media to ask cleaning fans for their tips and tricks.

Posting on Mrs Hinch Made Me Do It, a private Facebook group with 231,400 members, the woman explained: “My windows are absolutely soaking from condensation now the weather has got colder.

“Any ideas how to stop this please?”

She then added: “Also noticed my curtains have mould/damp spots on them and I can’t afford to replace them all again, any ways to stop this too?”

Thankfully, cleaning enthusiasts and fans of cleanfluencer Mrs Hinch flocked to the comments to share their quick and easy tips and tricks.

Whilst many suggested investing in dehumidifiers to fix the problem, others recommended a very simple solution.

And if you’ve got a similar problem and are on a budget, don’t worry, as this super straightforward trick will cost you just 65p.

Cleaning enthusiasts advised using table salt, which you can nab for only 65p from Aldi, to absorb moisture.

One person said: “Pop a bowl of salt on the window sill..will absorb moisture.”

Whilst another added: “Bowls of salt on window sills, cat litter works as well.”

Not only have Mrs Hinch fans praised using salt to battle condensation, but homecare expert and archeologist Barry Gray from The Tool Square, also swore by the affordable solution.

He stressed: “Salt has adsorption properties, which means that it can bind to moisture and prevent it from developing condensation.

What is mould and how to get rid of it?

Mould is more likely to grow during the winter months.

Olivia Young, Product Development Scientist at Astonish revealed exactly why this is.

“Unfortunately, mould is a common problem many people face during winter. It thrives in conditions that are warm and damp, so your bathrooms are likely to be the most affected place.

“That said, during the colder months most rooms in your home could be vulnerable to mould growing.

“This occurs primarily from condensation that builds up on your windows when you’ve got your radiators on.

“If you think about it, when windows and doors are closed, there’s not much chance for the air to circulate and the moisture to make a swift exit.

“This build up is what can cause dreaded mould to make an appearance, especially in bathrooms, as it creates that warm and wet environment that is a breeding ground for mould.

“If left untreated, not only is it unsightly but it can also pose a serious risk to your health, so it’s really important you treat it.

“The key to tackle mould is to act fast.

“Try to come into as little contact with it as you can. So, grab your gloves, tie up your hair and get to work to remove any signs of mould as soon as you notice them.

“To keep mould at bay, there are some simple solutions you can introduce throughout home.

“The first is keep it ventilated. Yes, even in the cold winter months try to leave your bathroom window open for at least 10/15 minutes post shower or bath. This will get rid of any excess moisture quickly preventing mould gathering.

“If you’re having a repeat problem with mould in one particular area, it might be because the humidity levels are too high. You can get a dehumidifier that will help keep the levels low and reduce the risk of mould returning.

“The golden rule to remember when dealing with mould is the quicker you can treat it, the better. If you leave it, it will only get worse so never ignore it!

“To successfully get rid of mould every time, I recommend opting for the UK’s No 1 Mould & Mildew Remover, that effectively removes mould and mildew stains almost instantly, with no scrubbing necessary.”

“This is why salt is often used in the kitchen to stop water droplets from forming on dishes or silverware.”

He claimed that salt is able to “pull moisture out of the air, making rooms drier” and less damp.

As a result, he shared: “This can help to prevent mould growth and other harmful conditions in enclosed spaces like homes or offices.”

More condensation advice

Meanwhile, many other cleaning fans explained how they battle condensation in the Winter

One user confessed: “A wise woman once told me that heat and ventilation reduces condensation..I open the vents on the windows overnight and when the heating comes on in the morning it really does help!”

5 ways to keep your house warm in winter

Property expert Joshua Houston shared his tips.

1. Curtains

“Windows are a common place for the outside cold to get into your home, this is because of small gaps that can let in air so always close your curtains as soon as it gets dark,” he said.

This simple method gives you an extra layer of warmth as it can provide a kind of “insulation” between your window and curtain.

2. Rugs

“Your floor is another area of your home where heat can be lost and can make your home feel chilly,” he continued. “You might notice on cold days, that your floor is not nice to walk on due to it freezing your feet.

“Add rugs to areas that don’t already have a carpet, this provides a layer of insulation between your bare floor and the room above.”

3. Check your insulation

Check your pipes, loft space, crawlspaces and underneath floorboards.

“Loose-fill insulation is very good for this, and is a more affordable type of insulation, with a big bag being able to be picked up for around £30,” Joshua explained.

4. Keep your internal doors closed

“Household members often gather in one room in the evening, and this is usually either the kitchen or living room,” Joshua said.

“This means you only have to heat a small area of your home, and closing the doors keeps the heat in and the cold out.”

5. Block drafts

Don’t forget to check cat flaps, chimneys and letterboxes, as they can let in cold air if they aren’t secure.

A second chimed in: “Open windows a touch every morning . People say they have damp but half the time it’s condensation because they have no ventilation. People need educating about it, they can’t dry clothes, boil water, run baths, shower and cook food without air circulation!”

Someone else advised: “Buy the £1 dehumidifiers at Poundland and put one or two in every room. Change when full of water. Also it helps to open windows for a little while every morning.”

Whilst a fourth agreed: “Dehumidifier. I got one recently and no longer have condensation on windows. I leave it on 24/7.”

Fans have been quick to brand her groom as ‘vile’[/caption]

Polly, 28, addressed her changing shape as she wrote in her caption: “seeing progress is hostly the best thing.”

Her swimwear showed off her toned figure while she left her hair and make-up natural.

The video, filmed on her iPhone in the reflection of a bedroom mirror, showed the star clearly chuffed with her two stone weight loss and new shape.

It gave no clues as to whether she’s still with her spouse – who has been branded “vile “ for his crude body-related remarks towards his bride.

Adam previously admitted the stunning redhead wasn’t his type – just minutes after meeting her at the altar.

He told the camera he was, in fact, looking for a “petite brunette” who resembled Hollywood actress Megan Fox.

He further described his ideal scenario as having a mixture between Megan and Brassic screen star Michelle Keegan.

This prompted irked viewers sticking up for stunning red head Polly to blast him as “delusional.”

They called out the groom and his “breathtaking audacity” to expect his partner to look like the A-list stunners.

Hitting out online, one fan wrote on X: “The sheer breathtaking audacity of 4/10 Adam with his ridiculous bowl cut thinking lovely 7/10 Polly isn’t good enough for him as he wants Megan Fox.”

Earlier this week, viewers saw Polly rejected by Adam for a second time – despite the pair becoming intimate on their wedding night.

Their Honeymoon in the stunning surroundings of Trentino in Italy was full of ups and downs as she tried to ascertain the barber’s true feelings for her.

He then warned her to “not get too excited” as he gave her a kiss to round off their trip overseas.

Meanwhile, there was more heartache for Polly as she stormed out of the first Dinner Party due to Adam’s cruel remarks.

Married at First Sight UK 2024

Here's who you can expect in the Mafs 2024 cast:

Polly is originally from Kent, but has been living in Brisbane, Australia.

The contestant was committed to finding love again, so much so that she jetted across the world to take a shot at marriage on the popular TV show.

Her longest relationship was six years.

Before the MAFS show Polly had been single for seven months and she has hinted on her socials that it had not been an easy ride, with a bunch of “sh*t relationships” punctuating her past.

Prior to meeting Adam, Polly admitted to MAFS experts that she was looking for someone who is “emotionally available, considerate and thoughtful.”

Speaking about the experiment, she added: “I’m excited to go into the unknown, to have things that aren’t in my control and to just go into it open minded.”

Flight attendant reveals the £1.50 item that is a game-changer when sitting next to smelly passengers

A FLIGHT attendant has revealed the £1.50 item that is a game-changer when sitting next to smelly passengers.

Enduring a long-haul flight next to a smelly traveller is a nightmare for any passenger.

Susannah Carr, a flight attendant, recommends passengers where a disposable face mask[/caption]

Susannah Carr, a flight attendant for a major US airline, advises wearing a mask if you find yourself in that unfortunate situation.

She said: “Throw one of those disposable masks in your bag.

“Even if you’re not afraid of germs, that can be a barrier to one of those smells.”

Travellers can purchase disposable masks for just £1.50 from Nursecall Matts.

Alternatively, Boots is offering a pack of five for £2.99, reduced from its original price of £5.99.

The seasoned flight attendant also suggested that applying a dab of Vicks VapoRub beneath your nose could be another effective solution.

Susannah claimed that this method is a common practice among crew members when they are assigned to collect rubbish.

She added that flight attendants regularly use essential oils such as peppermint to help shield themselves from odours in the cabin.

Vicks Vaporub can be bought on Amazon for just under £5.

Travellers who would prefer to use essential oils can purchase the items from Superdrug starting at just £4.99.

It comes after a savvy flight attendant revealed the £1.20 item she always takes with her whenever she boards a plane.

TikTok star Destanie Armstrong has shared the clever way she avoids having to eat unappetising plane food by packing her own quick and easy snack which can be made onboard almost all planes.

The Philadelphia-based flight attendant has racked up 70,000 followers online for her tips and tricks on how to best prepare for a flight.

With viewers being left amazed at her latest suggestion on how to keep your taste buds happy even when you’re up in the air.

The 25-year-old air stewardess says she would never board a plane hungry just in case you end up fancying food during the long haul journey.

But on the rare occasion where she forgets to fuel up her body or even on extra long flights, Destanie says she will always pack a handy snack.

She told her TikTok followers: “You can’t depend on these flights to have food and even if they do, a lot of the times the options aren’t food.”

The seasoned flyer said she always packs two pots of noodles in her hand luggage.

Almost all planes have hot water onboard, according to Destanie, meaning it is a great option to have.

It is even more useful if you either don’t want to pay the high price for snacks or don’t feel like eating any of the food options available.

Most noodle pots cost around £1 meaning they are a great and cheap option.

Family favourite brand Batchelors Super Noodles can be found in supermarkets for only £1 and come in a whole variety of flavours.

‘Does she know her audience?’ fans fume at ‘outrageous’ prices of Molly-Mae’s new range – with £140 blazer and £35 tee

MOLLY-MAE Hague has unveiled the prices of her long-awaited fashion brand, Maebe – but fans are not happy.

The influencer, 25, has been slammed for “not knowing her audience” after revealing how much she’s charging for a basic tee, jeans and blazers.

Molly-Mae announced her fashion label on September 9 following much speculation on TikTok from internet sleuths

The mum-of-one shared that Maebe has been “three years in the making” and now she’s finally ready to launch.

Fans will be able to buy the range at 7pm tonight.

However, up until this morning, Molly-Mae and her team have kept pricing of Maebe products strictly under wraps.

Last night, she took to Instagram to admit that “a lot of people” had been asking her for the pricing list so they knew “exactly what they wanted” before the launch.

Molly-Mae and her team honoured requests and released prices at 10am this morning, a few hours before the clothes are set to go live.

But fans are not impressed.

Many have slammed the “outrageous” prices – which range between £35 and £140 – and questioned why the range is “so expensive”.

Maebe’s “ultimate blazer” is priced at an eye-watering £140, while a white tee is £35 and a pair of jeans £90.

The “contour popper top” is £50, while an office-friendly white shirt will set you back a whopping £65.

“Why does Molly-Mae’s new range have to be so expensive?” one shopper moaned on X, previously Twitter.

“Molly-Mae charging an arm and a leg for basic clothes is outrageous,” another slammed.

A number of social media users questioned whether Molly-Mae “knows her audience”.

“Maebe is way too expensive – £35 for a literal T-shirt,” one criticised.

What are the Maebe prices?

  • Away Day Top – £55
  • Away Day Trousers – £60
  • All Tied Up Shirt – £65
  • Contour Popper Top – £50
  • Seam Denim Jeans – £90
  • Dreamer Pointelle Tee – £35
  • The Ultimate Blazer – £140
  • Cosy Cropped Cardigan – £60

“Does she realise that a lot of her followers are young girls, uni students or adults that have to pay mortgages?”

Another detractor penned on TikTok: “I’m really disappointed as I thought as her audience is mainly young girls, they would be reasonable.”

Other shoppers on Instagram moaned that they’re “too broke for Maebe” and slammed that “£140 for a blazer is wild”.

One moaned: “£50 for a vest top with buttons is very ludicrous.”

Some fans were happy with the prices and defended that Maebe is a “high class brand”[/caption]

“IT’S NOT SHEIN”

Not everyone was peeved by the launch though.

Some fans were quick to defend Molly-Mae and still vowed to “fill their baskets” when the Maebe site goes live at 7pm tonight.

“Everyone complaining about the price has to realise this isn’t Shein,” one defended on Instagram.

“She is going for a more high class brand.

“It will sell out as many people actually can afford this, unlike those complaining about the price.”

Another retaliated: “The prices aren’t even bad.

“She’s selling nice quality basics you’ll have for years, not £3 Shein tops.”

Shoppers can snare as many as 36 plates from Dollar Tree for $45.

The festive leaf dishes promise to “liven up any room”, with the plastic plates complete with a metallic finish, according to the product description.

They come assorted in red, orange and green.

Customers are so far raving about the plates, which have maintained a five-star rating from a handful of reviews.

One shopper said the dishes are perfect for candy, nuts, salsa or chips.

They added: “I love the color of these plates/bowls.

“And I just love the large size. These are perfect.”

Another shopper sang the praises of the plates’ quality despite the cheap price tag.

A review said: “I had bought two of these one in orange and one in red!!! These fit in well with my fall decorations!!

“Very good quality.”

The far dearer Neiman Marcus variety are by comparison ceramic plates made in Portugal, explaining the more expensive price tag to some degree.

But with shoppers this happy about the Dollar Tree version, it could absolutely be worth saving the cash.

Customers were also going crazy for the return of the discount shop’s seasonal candles.

Also coming with a $1.25 price tag, the candles come in four different fall scents: Harvest Apple, Toasted Hazelnut Latte, Crimson Cranberry, and Pumpkin Ginger Ale.

Customers have given the candles a 4.5 out of five star rating noting that charms and tie that come on the base are a bonus.

Crate & Barrel has a similar fall-scented candle but is priced at 91% higher than Dollar Tree.

The rival candle is Crate & Barrel’s Pumpkin Colored Pillar Candle which costs $12.95.

Dollar Tree dupes

Savvy shoppers have scoured Dollar Tree to find dupes of their favorite products

Shoppers found a perfect replica of a $150 set of Pottery Barn plates and bowls. Plus, Dollar Tree has matching mugs.

Dollar Tree also had dupes for the viral Starbucks tumblers.

Customers found dupes for Home Depot’s $39 outdoor solar lights.

Dollar Tree has a dupe for The Pink Stuff cleaning paste, too.
