‘It was like negative ASMR’ fans rage after watching Demi Moore’s graphic new movie and slam ‘torturous’ detail

IT’S only just been released, but Demi Moore’s new movie The Substance is already causing a stir at the cinema – for the wrong reasons.

The film stars Demi as fading celeb Elisabeth Sparkle, who uses a black market drug that creates a younger, better version of herself, with horrific side effects.

But it’s a scene which involves Dennis eating shrimp that’s got people comparing it to “noise torture”[/caption]

It also stars Margaret Qualley as the younger version of Demi’s character, and Dennis Quaid as slimy TV producer.

Brits have already started walking out of screenings of the film due to the graphic and gruesome scenes, but there’s one in particular that’s leaving people feeling ill.

Even Demi warned viewers about the scene, which involves Dennis eating shrimp.

“I will just warn everyone, the scene with Dennis eating the shrimp is by far the most violent scene in the whole movie,” she said during an interview with Seth Meyers.

And people have also been taking to Reddit to weigh in on the scene, which saw Dennis consume 4lbs of shrimp in order to get it perfect.

“Damn the sound effects and design in the film are amazing, but that scene and those noises wtf,” one person wrote on the social media site.

“I can’t stand people making noise like that when eating, it was like negative ASMR if that’s a thing lol torture sounds.

“Would make me give up information easier and quicker than Batman could.”

“Noise torture, I believe, is absolutely a thing,” another added.

“When I go to see it, I’m taking headphones,” a third wrote.

“Just the close up shot of his mouth in the trailer gives me the willies.”

As someone else admitted that scene, and the film as a whole, had completely put them off their food.

“It’s rare for me to feel physically ill or repulsed even after the film ended,” they wrote.

“I needed to take time doing some other fun dancing games before I’m able to eat which is not my norm.

“I’m a fan of horror and love watching films I like several times but I’m not going to rewatch The Substance any time soon.”

Others were more complimentary about the movie, with some even suggesting Demi should be nominated for an Oscar for her role in it.

“I certainly think it is and I’m curious about other thoughts on this,” one wrote.

“I even think it deserves nominations in multiple categories to be honest.”

“An Oscar for a horror movie? We all know that’s not gonna happen,” another insisted.

“Both Demi Moore and Dennis Quaid deserve nominations, but it’s a long shot due to the genre this film is in,” someone else pointed out.

As another said: “This whole thing felt very well casted. They all nailed their roles.”

‘He’ll find out very quickly’ says Jake Paul as he issues fierce warning to Mike Tyson about big risk in Netflix fight

JAKE PAUL has fiercely warned Mike Tyson about taking too many risks in their fight.

Paul, 27, faces heavyweight great Tyson, 58, on November 15 in a clash that has attracted controversy over the age gap.

Mike Tyson is due to fight Jake Paul on November 15[/caption]

And he is expecting an early onslaught from the Baddest Man on The Planet – but is armed with the artillery to fire back.

Paul told the Daily Mail: “I mean, it’s just being alert and knowing what to do in that situation.

“I could definitely see him trying to [go for an early KO], but he’ll find out very quickly that I also have a ton of power.

“So doing that with a guy like me isn’t always the smartest thing to do, because I’ll catch one of his shots then counter.”

Paul is 10-1 in his boxing career with only a split-decision loss to Tommy Fury, 25, last year blemishing his record.

Tyson meanwhile officially retired in 2005 after two dismal defeats and struggles in his personal life.

But he did return in 2020 for an exhibition bout against fellow legend Roy Jones Jr.

That was nothing more than a glorified spar – but his fight with Paul has been professionally sanctioned with records on the line.

Tyson was forced to pull out of the original July 20 fight after suffering an ulcer flare up in his stomach.

But he has since been deemed medically fit to resume training.

As well as pre-fight drug testing for the both, Tyson will undergo additional heart and brain exams due to his age.

Iron Mike also had his request for shorter two minute rounds with bigger 14oz gloves accepted – as well as being a pro fight not an exhibition.

And Paul said ahead of the Netflix fight: “It’s interesting, I’m just, I’m just basing s*** off of facts.

“He’s like, ‘Watch your shape, watch your shape’. I’m like, alright, but you watch it.

“It could be to his advantage. I think it’s also smart that he’s doing that. I’m fighting on all of his rules and what he wanted.

“He wanted it to be a pro fight. He wanted eight, two-minute rounds. So I’m giving him everything he wants.

“I’m going to his playground, and I’m going to beat his ass.”

The 10-minute job you must do in October for lush grass – as expert says ‘it’s important to give your lawn a bit of TLC

A GARDENING expert has shared how doing just a few 10-minute jobs before winter sets in can ensure your garden looks its best.

Now the weather is colder many of us don’t fancy going out and tending to the garden – but the expert has revealed there’s still some jobs that need to be tackled.

The gardening pro shared three easy jobs to complete to keep your grass looking its best[/caption]

David Domoney, a chartered horticulturist best known for presenting Love Your Garden, shared three jobs you need to get done in October to keep your grass looking lush.

He told the Express: “Don’t leave your lawn to suffer from the summer heat.

“It’s important to give your lawn a bit of TLC to keep it going through the winter months.”

Leaf It

Autumn has lots of beautiful leaves as the seasonal changes make them drop to the floor.

But when you start to notice your grass covered in leaves you need to clear it.

Grass relies on sunlight to help it grow and stay healthy during the winter – without it the grass will weaken and could even begin to wilt away.

Not only that, leaves also trap moisture underneath them which creates a damp environment that can encourage mould, pests such as slugs, and fungus diseases to spread in the garden.

David recommends picking up and clearing leaves from the grass regularly to prevent disease or dead grass.

Growth Serum

October is a good time to fertilise lawns as it will strengthen the roots as grass prepares to go dormant, which will help enhance nutrient and water storage to store energy

Giving your grass fertiliser now will make it resilient in the colder months and prevent it from dying off and make it stronger to fight against weeds.

““Select one specifically designed for autumn as these have been formulated with all the nutrients your greenery needs to keep its strength up,” said David.

“For a dry lawn, opt for a liquid feed which you can pick up from your local garden centre.”

Cut Short

The gardening expert reveals you need to get one last trim in before packing away you lawn mower.

Fungal diseases, mould and moss can grow quickly on lawns due to the damp weather in autumn but giving it one last trim can help it get more air circulation to prevent them spreading.

September gardening jobs

With September starting, so does autumn, and The Sun's Gardening Editor Veronica Lorraine has a few tasks to keep you busy as the summer sun winds down.

1. Starting thinking about Spring bulbs

Its early bulb time! As well as the more traditional daffodils, crocuses, alliums and bluebells, try snake-head fratillaries for something slightly different.

2. Remember the bees

Make sure you’re still looking after the bees with autumn flowering pollinators – like sedums, honeysuckle and asters.

3. Dig and enjoy your potatoes

Maincrop potatoes are ready to dig up – make sure you get them all so they don’t get slug damage.

4. Change your lawn mowing schedule

Raise the height of your lawn mower and start to reduce the amount of mowing you do. GIve it an autumn feed, especially if you didn’t get round to it in Summer and start to rake to remove thatch.

5. Plant out new perennials while the soil is still warm.

6. Take salvia cuttings

It’s as easy as cutting a shoot tip above a  node and chucking it in a glass of water to see if it sprouts roots. Especially with tender Salvias which wont survive the winter.

7. Keep camelias well watered to make sure that buds form next year.

8. Keep on deadheading and watering your hanging baskets

They should keep going until the first frosts.

9. Get pumpkins Halloween ready

Remove any leaves shading pumpkins to make sure they’ll be ready for halloween – and make sure you keep watering them, they’re very thirsty.

10. Check on your pond

Net your pond to stop it filling with fallen leaves when the trees start to drop.

However, he reveals that you should never mow the grass once the first frost arrives in late October to early November, but the exact time you should stop cutting the grass will be different depending on where you live.

David added: “Grass may be slow to grow this time of year, so it’s best to raise your mowing height. This gives the grass the opportunity to recover from summer use and retain water.

“Now’s a good time to give your mower a full clean as the growing season ends. You can do this with your garden hose, rinsing off grime and debris.”

Mason Mount shares gory picture of himself getting STITCHES after horror head injury left Man Utd star covered in blood

MASON MOUNT has issued a gory update after he was left with blood pouring out from his head.

The Man Utd star had to be substituted following a nasty collision against Tottenham on Sunday.

Mount came on as a sub for Kobbie Mainoo during the disastrous 3-0 loss at Old Trafford.

The 25-year-old lasted just 40 minutes before being forced off after a clash of heads with Radu Dragusin.

Mount suffered a heavy blow to the back of his head, with blood seen pouring from the wound.

He was led from the field by medical staff and replaced by Amad Diallo.

Mount updated concerned fans late on Sunday night via his Instagram page.

Posting a selfie of him receiving stitches, the ex-Chelsea star wrote: “I’m all good, just a scratch.

“Thanks for all the messages.”

Mount made his return from a hamstring injury in last week’s disappointing 1-1 Europa League draw with FC Twente.

The midfielder had previously missed three matches with the knock.

Boss Erik ten Hag finds himself under immense pressure after Sunday’s shocking defeat.

United have a packed schedule coming up ahead of the next international break.

They face a quick turnaround this week, with FC Porto in the Europa League on Thursday before a trip to face Aston Villa on Sunday.

SunSport has revealed Ten Hag will remain in post for those two games – but is now under immense pressure from the top.

The Dutchman is also the bookies favourite to be the next Premier League manager sacked.

Man Utd ratings vs Tottenham

MANCHESTER UNITED suffered a 3-0 thrashing against Tottenham at Old Trafford.

Captain Bruno Fernandes was sent off in the first half for fouling James Maddison, forcing Erik Ten Hag’s side to play with 10 men against Ange Postecoglou’s team.

After back-to-back draws against Crystal Palace and FC Twente fans hoped United would redeem themselves against Spurs.

However, the match at Old Trafford quickly turned sour. Brennan Johnson scored early and things worsened when Fernandes was sent off allowing Spurs to extend their lead to 3-0.

And here is how SunSports Charlie Wyett rated the Manchester United stars.

Andre Onana – 5

Stood his ground to deliver a good save from Timo Werner who was clean through – no chance for either goal.

Noussair Mazraoui – 5

First in the refs’ book for chopping down Destiny Udogie. Could also have blocked Micky van de Ven for the goal. Just watched Solanke make it 3-0.

Matthijs de Ligt – 4

Shocking first half. Failed to cut out the cross from Micky van de Ven which led to the first goal.

Lisandro Martinez – 5

Switched off for the Spurs goal and was drawn to the ball and Johnson was left unmarked.

Diogo Dalot – 5

Gave the ball away in dangerous areas and struggled against Johnson.

Manuel Ugarte – 5

Suffered a stinker and was lucky to last until the 73rd minute.

Kobbie Mainoo – 5

Not one of his better performances and was taken off just before half-time following Fernandes’ sending-off.

Marcus Rashford – 5

Over-ran the ball for Tottenham’s first. Way off the pace.

Bruno Fernandes – 4

Arguably the worst captain in United’s history. Deserved red card for his challenge on James Maddison.

Alejandro Garnacho – 6

Had United’s only chance in the first half but hit the outside of the post. Improved in the second half.

Joshua Zirkzee – 5

Looked completely lost up front – threatening to be another poor Erik ten Hag signing. Replaced at half-time.

Subs:

Mount (for Mainoo 45)  5, Casemiro (for Zirkzee 46) 7, Hojlund (for Rashford 73) 5, Eriksen (for Ugarte 73) 5.

His odds plummeted after the 3-0 defeat at Old Trafford, where his team were booed off.

He will be without Bruno Fernandes for the next three games after the United captain was given a straight red card against Spurs.

Mainoo also picked up a knock during the game, with Ten Hag admitting he is “concerned” about the England star’s fitness.

a manchester united attacking mids compared poster

Following Sunday’s loss, the United boss said: “I can’t say at the moment [about Mainoo’s injury].

“I have to find out but, of course, when a player is coming off before half-time already, then there are some concerns.”

Addressing Mount’s injury, he continued: “I have seen how Mason came off.

“He was bleeding so it’s clear there are some problems there and we have to see how they recover in the coming days.”

Jeremy Clarkson left ‘furious’ with BBC star in awkward exchange over The Grand Tour

JEREMY Clarkson was reportedly left ‘furious’ after being probed by a BBC star about a dramatic stunt that took place during filming for The Grand Tour.

The popular Amazon Prime series, fronted by Jeremy alongside James May and Richard Hammond, came to an end for good earlier this month during an epic special entitled One For The Road.

A car was launched off the side of a hill[/caption]

In one of the scenes, the trio saw a red VW Beetle launched off of the edge of an almighty cliff.

The car crashed its way down the hillside losing many of its parts on its crumbling way down.

Having watched the scenes, former Pointless star Richard was left confronting Jeremy about the actions in the episode in order to ask him if he and The Grand Tour crew effectively cleared up the mess left behind by the car.

Speaking on his own podcast, The Rest Is Entertainment, Richard revealed a viewers had written in to ask how TV programmes clear up messes left by huge stunts after being left concerned following The Grand Tour.

Richard admitted he had called Jezza in order to ask him but the Clarkson’s Farm star was reportedly left furious by the question.

Revealing how the call went, the House of Games star said: “He was furious to be asked [about] it.”

Richard continued recalling Jeremy’s words on the call, saying: “If ever you push anything off anywhere on any TV program, people are like, ‘oh, I hope you cleared that up.’

“You think, yeah, of course we can, we’ve got a television program, we’ve got the law of the land. we don’t just go, ‘Come on, let’s just leave it at the bottom of the cliff, shall we? We’re The Grand Tour. We do whatever we want’.”

Richard went on: “So he [Jeremy] says, ‘I am not interested in answering this question in any way, but I will say, of course, it was cleared up’.”

“But that’s the point with all of these things, if a car goes off a cliff for whatever reason, someone eventually goes and clears it up.”

Richard, who worked as a TV producer before following a path as a celebrity, went on to say that viewers were likely to have felt misled as a result of the “casual and crazy” nature of the show.

He said: “And the joy of The Grand Tour is it looks like everything’s very casual, and it looks like they’re being crazy and they are, of course, and there’s a lot of fun being had.

“But yeah, everything is cleared up. Jeremy says they probably turned it back into a car by now. He’s saying, you know, it is absolutely cleared up.

“If there was any oil, that’s all been cleared up, every single thing you ever see on television, movies, the absolutely environmental protections are through the roof.

“So, fun though it is to launch a VW Beetle off a cliff, there is three weeks of less fun, which is not being filmed afterwards.”

The ticket was bought at Redner’s Market in Camden and its drawing date was August 30, 2024.

Another Mega Millions ticket – with a prize of $10,000 – was bought at Buyrite Liquors in New Castle.

Its drawing date was January 19, 2024, reports Delaware Online.

The lucky few with the correct tickets are told not to panic as they have ample time after purchasing the ticket to scoop their win.

Tickers are valid for up to a year after the drawing date for drawing game prizes or within a year of the announced end of sales, according to delottery.com.

However, Mega Millions has urged customers who have cut it too fine to check their numbers as soon as possible.

A $10,000-winning Mega Millions ticket was purchased at Buyrite Liquors in New Castle – its drawing date was January 19, 2024.

It’s not just Mega Millions customers that could be in luck – Powerball also has some unclaimed tickets worth astonishing sums.

A $150,000-winning Powerball ticket was bought at Shore Stop 263 – and its drawing date was April 20, 2024.

A $100,000 winning ticket sold at Fenwick Island Goose Creek in Selbyville, drawn on August 19, 2024.

A $50,000-winning ticket purchased at Wawa No. 834 in Lewes is also yet to be claimed.

The drawing date of this ticket was September 30, 2023, meaning the winner does not have much time left to claim the prize.

To identify yourself as a winner, you must sign the back of the ticket with an ink pen.

But be careful – this cannot be reversed and once it’s signed, you can’t change or transfer the ownership of the ticket.

For cash prizes below $599, tickets can be claimed at Delaware lottery retailers or at the Delaware Lottery Office.

And if you don’t have time to do this in person, you can post your tickets to the Delaware Lottery Office.

If you’re lucky enough to have won a slightly heftier sum – worth $2,500 or less – head to a retailer claim center across the state.

For prizes worth $600 and $5,000, you can head to a select few redemption centers between 8am and 4pm, Monday to Friday.

If you’ve been even luckier and managed to bag a prize exceeding $5,001, you can redeem this at the Delaware Lottery Office between 8am and 4pm, Monday to Friday.

Winners must be ready to present photo ID with their name and address clear, as well as their social security card when claiming.

Players have been warned that all winning Powerball, Mega Millions and Lotto America tickets have to be redeemed in the state they were sold.

Britain braces for ‘deadly FUNGUS invasion’ as mushrooms so poisonous a mouthful could kill you spring up in UK soil

DEADLY fungus is spreading in Britain amid a torrent of wet weather.

Death Cap mushrooms, dubbed “silent assassins” by the Woodland Trust, are popping up across the country, thriving in the gloomy conditions following floods and thunderstorms.

The poisonous fungus grows up to 15cm across and 15cm tall, with a domed or white cap and an off-white stem.

“Although it looks fairly inoffensive and similar to a number of edible mushrooms, it is deadly poisonous,” the Woodland Trust warns.

Now a surge in fungi growth is being reported across Britain amid growing fears over the Death Cap mushrooms, according to the Daily Star.

The mushroom is fairly common in most parts of Britain, Ireland and mainland Europe, and is often found under oak and beech.

Death Caps contain the poison amanitin and are responsible for 90% of deaths by fungus.

Half a cap or even less is enough to kill a person.

Three people in Jersey – including a mum and son – were poisoned on September 15 after eating death cap mushrooms.

They mistook the deadly fungus for edible mushrooms.

Fungi expert Charlotte Shenkin told the BBC: “It’s essential to be aware of the real and potentially deadly risks of eating wild fungi without knowledge and caution.”

Toadstools are now thriving in the soggy conditions following days of wet weather.

Andy Overall, who write about fungi, posted on X: “I’ve never seen so many mushrooms in East Sussex, as fungi responds to the rain and relatively warm temperatures.”

How to spot a poisonous death cap mushroom

The death cap is a large fungus growing up to 15cm across and 15cm tall with a domed or white cap – depending on age – on an off-white stem.

While it looks similar to edible mushrooms, it is deadly poisonous.

The fruitbody consists of a shiny olive-yellow to greenish-bronze cap, 5–15cm in diameter.

It is dome-shaped at first and flattening as it matures, darker in the middle with faint radiating fibres giving it a streaked appearance.

It smells sickly sweet and rancid when old, though at the button stage is virtually odourless.

Underneath the cap, the gills are broad and free, pure white turning cream or even slightly pink as they age.

The spores are smooth and elliptical in shape, with a white spore print.

The stem is off-white, 7–15cm high with a floppy ring.

It is swollen at the base and sits in a bag, or volva.
