FORMER Strictly star Dan Walker has suggested that the BBC show is fixed, after his ex-professional partner, Nadiya Bychokova and her celebrity, Olympic gold medallist, Tom Dean were the first to be voted off.

The swimming ace found himself in the dance-off with singer Toyah Wilcox, but after the panel was initially divided, head judge Shirley Ballas chose to save Toyah in last night’s elimination.

But now Channel 5 news anchor Dan, who competed on the show in 2021, has branded the decision, “messed up.”

In a candid post he said: “What just happened on Strictly feels a bit messed up,”

He said: “Tom Dean’s departure will go down as one of THE early shocks. Lovely bloke who really could have become a great dancer. He looked like he was loving every second of it and Nadiya Bychokova looked like she loved teaching him.”

The news man was obviously disappointed on behalf of his former partner with whom he has remained friends since he appeared on the show, finishing in 5^th place.

He continued:  “I’m not an expert – and I’m happy for someone to explain – but how he lost that dance off is completely beyond my comprehension,” he continued. “Genuinely thought they could have gone a long way.”

And it seems that many people share his views.

One said “Gutted for Tom and Nadiya. I really think Tom would’ve improved. Didn’t deserve to go out first.”

Another said: Terrible decision, there was no jive in that ‘jive’, Tom deserved better!!

Meanwhile another said: “I’m with you Dan, awful decisions from the judges and you could even see that Toyah thought she was going, her dancing wasn’t good. It’s this sort of thing that really gets to the viewers.’

And another added: “I agree with you. I do dance. A lot more content in Tom’s routine. Sure he had some timing issues and Toyah did put a lot into the performance aspect, but IMO he was much closer to learning and performing the designated dance style, which surely is the main point of the show.’

After the difficult dance off, Craig Revel Horwood and Motsi Mabuse saved Toyah and Neil, while Anton Du Beke voted in favour of Tom and Nadiya.

But ultimately, the decision was left in the hands of head judge Shirley, who opted to save Toyah and Neil.

Following the episode, which was pre-recorded on Saturday, a downcast Nadiya took to Instagram to share an emotional post, cryptically alluding to suggestions that the result was a fix.

She said: “ “I really appreciate all the messages but I’m not ready to talk about what happened tonight just yet.”

Reflecting on his own experience, Tom, who looked visibly disappointed, said afterwards: “I’ve had the best time the last few weeks and getting to work with Nadiya has been incredible.

I wish I could have gone further and done more dances. I’ve had the most fun and I wish we could keep going longer and longer. We’ll still go out for loads of brunches I’m sure.”

PARIS SAINT-GERMAIN winger Ousmane Dembele has been axed by Luis Enrique ahead of Tuesday’s huge Champions League clash with Arsenal.

According to French outlet L’Equipe, Dembele had a blazing row with manager Enrique following PSG’s 3-1 win over Rennes on Friday.

Enrique criticised the winger for some of the decisions he made on the pitch during the match.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta was asked about the development during his pre-match press conference on Monday morning.

On paper, it looks as though this could be a cricket score as Premier League champions Manchester City travel to face Slovan Bratislava.

Slovan Bratislava started life in the Champions League with a chastening 5-1 defeat to Celtic in their opener, conceding a whopping 17 efforts on goal and an xG of 3.56.

Initially, it was reported Sean Wilson would reprise his role as Martin Platt, Gail’s ex-husband, for her final scenes.

However, this was later axed – with Cold Feet actor John Thomson returning as children’s entertainer Jesse Chadwick instead.

John is now back filming as Jesse while the storyline starts to take shape.

It comes as several have been left unimpressed with how Gail’s exit is being handled.

Taking to X, one wrote: “Utterly diabolical exit for Gail and of course, abysmal show!!!”

Another penned: “I really hate how #Corrie have written Gail’s exit.

“She would never leave to run off into the sunset with a man.

“Especially a man as forgettable as What’s-his-face. Truly abysmal.

Actor and comedian John, 55, previously appeared as Jesse in the ITV soap from 2008 to 2010.

Although, in the character’s first stint, he was a love interest for Eileen Grimshaw (Sue Cleaver).

Helen previously confirmed she had signed her final contract and would leave the soap at the end of 2024.

The actress said: “This year felt like the perfect time to leave the show after celebrating 50 years in the most wonderful job on the most wonderful street in the world.

“The past 50 years have flown by and I don’t think the fact that I am leaving has quite sunk in yet.”

At the time, bosses teased that Gail will “bid farewell to Weatherfield in a major storyline for the Platt family”.

Dave (@sndper) said headed to the supermarket at 6am to buy his groceries.

By stepping foot in the supermarket, he said he had ended a boycott spanning 15 years.

Dave wanted to buy a video game but encountered a locked case.

He claimed a Walmart staffer had told him to return at 8am when the department opens.

This would’ve meant Dave faced a two-hour wait just for a single item.

“I promptly pushed my entire full cart in the aisle and walked out,” he claimed.

He vowed to boycott Walmart following the horror ordeal.

But Dave said he’s not just boycotted Walmart stores as he has vowed not to shop at Sam’s Club.

He claimed that he “promptly” canceled his subscription at the wholesaler.

The shopper then rushed to buy a Costco membership in retaliation.

Locking items in cases is just one measure rolled out by chains such as Walmart to combat theft.

Joe Budano, the CEO of Indyme, a company that creates security devices, told Forbes that retailers have resorted to a siege mentality locking items up.

“Retailers aren’t clueless,” he told Forbes in 2023.

 “They know customers hate finding stuff locked up.”

Budano explained that shoppers would rather walk out of the door – rather than wait for a staffer to unlock a cabinet.

Shoppers have fumed about how such measures are an inconvenience.

DIVIDED SHOPPERS

But, it’s not just computer games that have been locked up by store bosses.

In hardware stores such as Home Depot, cheap items to power tools are in cages.

Shoppers have fumed how the anti-theft measure has blocked them from buying items.

The U.S. Sun reported how some Walmart and Target shoppers were left baffled when items such as underwear and socks were put under lock and key.

Locked cabinets are just one element of Target’s so-called multifaceted approach to combat shoplifting.

A spokesperson told Fox Business that decisions related to implementing such policies are made on a local level.

The policy was not welcomed by all and the company CEO Brian Cornell hit the headlines after claiming shoppers were personally thanking him.

He suggested customers were pleased that their items were in stock.

Some shoppers claimed at the time Cornell’s comments were moronic.

Last week, Cornell told Yahoo Finance that he feels much better than he did a year ago.

He said that he’s hopeful the company will be able to remove some of the measures.

The pair legally divorced in 2014 for the sake of expanding their family, with Kody marrying fourth wife, Robyn, in order to adopt her children. 

But Meri remained in the family unit – alongside Robyn, second wife Janelle and third wife Christine – before breaking up with Kody properly in January 2023. 

Both Christine and Janelle have also split from Kody, leaving him now with just one wife. 

During Sunday night’s episode Meri took steps in order for their ‘divorce’ to be officially recognised by their church in Utah, which Kody explains is referred to as a ‘release’ in their religion. 

He later discussed his thoughts on his relationship with Meri, saying he “didn’t need another enemy” and hoped one day he could be friends with his ex-wives. 

“I think if I were single and Meri was single, would I date her? No, I wouldn’t,” he admitted to the camera. 

“She is upset that I’ve dragged this out so long. I don’t blame her.” 

Admitting he is no longer on good terms with Janelle or Christine, he added: “I don’t want Meri to be in this place where she’s taking this toll, this direction that both Christine and Janelle have taken. Oh, yeah, ‘I need one more enemy right now.’ 

“That’s why I’m trying to be in this place with Meri where it’s like, ‘Hey, can we just be friends and move on?’”

Between the four wives, Kody has had 18 children and six grandchildren so, naturally, their lives are still intertwined. 

In another discussion to camera, Kody revealed his sadness at an “awkward” and “weird” encounter between him and his former wives at a wedding. 

“Overall, the whole wedding was just sad for me,” he said. “We used to go places as a family and now it’s like those who were my partners are now almost like enemies. It’s awkward. I don’t know what the solution is.” 

The new episode comes shortly after it was revealed Kody and Robyn have put their $1.6million home in Flagstaff, Arizona. up for sale, amid rumours they can no longer afford it.

The secluded home sits on a two-acre lot, but Kody and Robyn also own the nearby Coyote Pass, which has over five acres — and reportedly remains untouched.

Coyote Pass was purchased in 2018 for $820k and was meant to be split into five parcels so Kody and all four wives could build homes of their own on their properties.
