Reigning SoCon wrestling champions Will Miller (165 pounds) and Tomas Brooker (184 pounds) were named to the league’s preseason all-conference team from App State, which placed second in a vote of the league’s nine coaches.
The Mountaineers return five wrestlers who were starters in their 10-man lineup from a 2023-24 team that finished the season with a second straight top-25 dual team ranking (at No. 24) and repeated as SoCon Championship tournament winners.
Miller and Brooker both qualified for the NCAA Championships as SoCon winners, with Miller finishing his junior season at 25-8 and Brooker completing his true freshman season at 21-15.
The 2024-25 season is presented by Hungry Howie’s and Penn Station.

The home schedule includes visits from nonconference foes West Virginia (on Nov. 22, a Friday night before a Nov. 23 home football game against James Madison), Virginia Tech (Sunday, Jan. 19) and Duke (Monday, Jan. 20) as well as SoCon counterparts Chattanooga (Sunday, Feb. 9) and preseason league favorite Campbell (Sunday, Feb. 23).
