The flag, which Ambamelia thought was an Israeli flag, was in fact a Greek flag. The video garnered more than 3.2 million views, and netizens condemned the TikToker’s action. Ambamelia has since apologized after she realized her folly.
Ambamelia Mistakes Greek Flags for Israeli, Tears Them Down

The video is from March when Ambamelia pulled down Greek flags outside a restaurant in New Jersey and tore them thinking they were Israeli flags. The incident was also reported to the police and drew instant and widespread ridicule online. It also started a debate on the need to fill the gaps in education and awareness.
While tearing down the flag, Ambamelia was shouting at the confused staff of the restaurant,
“Look at this shit! Free Palestine, bitch! There’s a genocide happening! I don’t support Zionism in Montclair!”
Later the staff explained to the ignorant TikToker that it was actually the flag of Greece and not Israel.
Ambamelia replied,
“What? Really? My bad. Oh shit… it looked like Israel.”
Social media also erupted, and many netizens commented on the incident. One user commented on X,

The restaurant owner also confirmed that the incident was real and happened on March 11. The owner also added that she did not know why the video has surfaced now. She also stated the young woman had destroyed her property, and the incident was also brought to the notice of the police.
The restaurant owner said,
“The young woman destroyed my property. It was not a skit as some people believe,”
Many users thought that the incident was too naïve to be true. The restaurant has not put any flags outside after this incident.
Anti-Israeli sentiments are rising in many countries, with many condemning the war in Gaza and the sufferings of the civilian population.
