VICKSBURG, MS – The 1871 Alumni Group has announced their Alcorn Alumni Bravecoming, a host of events leading up to this weekend’s homecoming game, which is held this Saturday, October 5 against University of Arkansas – Pine Bluff.
Thursday evening, October 3, the group will host a Purple Tie awards and scholarship banquet at the Riverwalk Casino.
“Welcome to the 3rd Annual 1871 Purple Tie Awards Gala! Join us for a night of celebration and recognition at the beautiful Riverwalk Casino Hotel. Dress to impress in your best purple attire, famous kicks, and get ready to honor outstanding individuals in our 1871 Alumni Community. Friday, October 4, the Alcorn Alumni Bravecoming will feature a Block Party with pop-up shops, music, and a spades tournament from 3:30 p.m.- 7:30 p.m. in downtown Vicksburg at Gordon’s Alley, followed by the official pregame party from 9 p.m. – to 2 a.m. at the Watermark Vicksburg.
