‘Absolute joke’ rage Iron Maiden fans as Run For Your Lives tour goes on sale with ‘ridiculous’ prices

IRON Maiden fans have been left fuming at the “ridiculous” prices for their Run For Your Lives tour.

Last week, the rockers revealed their upcoming UK and Ireland tour dates celebrating 50 years of monster madness.

Some fans have claimed ticket prices have shot up to over £800[/caption]

The bands, who are synonymous with their zombie-like mascot Eddie, are promising fans the “most spectacular and elaborate show ever”.

Excited fans raced to Ticketmaster today to get their hands on the tickets – but were shocked to find that prices had skyrocketed.

This angry fan raged at the ticket selling website: “Tickets for London opened today. Prices went from £130 to £895 in less than an hour. Absolute joke.

“I’ve followed Maiden for years and have several tats. They are pricing the real fans out. Absolute joke.”

A second agreed and said: “Holy s***. £109+ for Iron Maiden. Yeah, it’s safe to say the band can get f***** with those prices. Ironic considering Bruce Dickinson was complaining about bands ripping fans off. What the actual f***! Live music needs to die. Not worth it!”

A third said: “So many of us fans can’t go cause of Ticketmaster hiking prices and linking tickets to hotel stays , £369 for a standing ticket.”

“I know they’ll probably still sell it out, but iron maiden *starting* their standing prices for London stadium at £108 is grim,” this person shared.

One simply stated: “Iron maiden prices are ridiculous.”

Another added: “Correct. Massive jump from the (already expensive) £80 I paid for last years Future Past. 50% increase for my Manchester ticket. Ridiculous.”

The band’s singer Bruce Dickinson has previously spoken out against extortionate ticket prices which can have a negative impact on the music industry.

“Well, two things. One, it depends what the show is and kind of who the audience are,” he told Blabbermouth.Net

“I mean, I’m not gonna go around and say specific artists, because most of the artists that are charging, like, 1,200 dollars a ticket — like in Las Vegas, if you wanna go and see the U2 show, I think it was 1,200 dollars per seat in the sphere.

“I’ve got no interest in paying 1,200 dollars to go and see U2 in the sphere — none.

“A hundred bucks, maybe. But for me, what’s important is to try and keep, on the one hand, the right type of tickets at the right price.

“So by that I mean the right type of tickets, I mean, the tickets that are in front of the stage, which everybody says should be the most expensive tickets.

“Actually, no, they should be the most reasonably priced tickets, ’cause the people who are gonna go there to the front of the stage are gonna be people who are real fans, people who are kids, people who can’t afford the crazy money, but they are the people that need to be down the front; they’re the people that are gonna keep this music alive.”

Earlier this month, the band announced the anniversary world tour on social media.

Their band’s account wrote: “The Run For Your Lives World Tour will kick off on May 27th next year in Budapest followed by 27 stadium, festival & arena shows around Europe.

“The tour marks 50 years since Steve Harris formed the band in late 1975 and to celebrate this Maiden fans are promised a very special set list, spanning the nine studio albums from ‘Iron Maiden’ to ‘Fear Of The Dark’, with their most spectacular and elaborate show ever!”

The UK dates include Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham and a huge show at the London Stadium, home to bassist and founder Harris’s beloved West Ham United.

Another massive show is lined up for Malahide Castle, Dublin, where support will come courtesy of American rockers Halestorm and Brit metallers The Raven Age.

Maiden said: “Special Guests for the first half of the tour, including the London & Dublin outdoor shows (but not the UK arenas), will be American rockers Halestorm.

“The second half of the tour sees Sweden’s Avatar as guests. And, finally, British metal band, The Raven Age, will open all UK & Ireland shows.”

Ecstatic fan are now predicting Maiden will headline Download Festival next summer too.

One commented: “Download 2025 headliner for sure.”

Another said: “They’re tears of joy, I swear.”

The Irons are known for their galloping rhythms and epic songcraft, often drawing inspiration from famous literature and historic moments.

There have been numerous personnel shifts over the years but the current line-up consists of Steve Harris, guitarists Dave Murray, Adrian Smith and Janick Gers. frontman Bruce Dickinson and drummer Nicko McBrain.

Dickinson, who is also a qualified pilot and often jets the band around the world in the famous Ed Force One 747, replaced original singer Paul Di’Anno in 1981.
