Aaron Rodgers disagrees with Robert Salah after New York Jets coach slammed ‘unacceptable’ penalties in shock defeat

NEW York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers was at odds with coach Robert Saleh following a dismal loss to the Denver Broncos.

The four-time MVP put up a disappointing stat line as the Jets slumped to a 10-9 home loss against the Denver Broncos.

Rodgers completed just 24 of 42 passes for 225 yards and no touchdowns in heavy rain at MetLife Stadium.

The Jets committed sloppy penalties throughout the game before missing a late go-ahead field goal.

Head coach Saleh called the team out in his press conference for committing five false start penalties.

“We gotta figure it out, whether or not we’re good enough – or ready to handle all of the cadence,” Saleh said.

“Cadence had not been an issue all camp. Felt like our operation had been operating pretty good.

“Obviously, today took a major step back.”

But Rodgers disagreed that cadence was an issue, instead insisting it had been a “weapon.”

“That’s one way to do it. The other way is hold them accountable,” Rodgers said when asked about Saleh’s comments.

“It’s been a weapon. We use it every day in practice. We rarely have a false start.

“And to have five today, it seems like an outlier.

“I don’t know if we need to make mass changes based on kind of an outlier game.”

In total, the Jets racked up 13 total penalties on Sunday costing them 90 yards.

It was a frustrating performance for both fans and players alike, with New York dropping to 2-2 on the season.

“We played terrible, and when you play terrible, you deserve to lose,” receiver Garrett Wilson said.

“The rain didn’t help, we were a little off and they popped us. Very frustrated. It feels terrible.”

Zuerlein was guilty of smashing a 50-yard field goal wide of the posts late in the two-minute warning in New Jersey.

Rodgers had driven the team downfield into range, but ‘Greg the Leg’ couldn’t find his target.

“Really, no excuses,” Zuerlein said afterwards.

“You just have to make that kick.”

The Jets travel to Minnesota in Week 5 to face the red hot Minnesota Vikings.
