NEW YORK GIANTS head coach Brian Daboll will start Deonte Banks against the Washington Commanders after benching him during the loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Banks, 23, was the Giants’ 2023 first-round draft pick but seriously struggled during Monday’s 26-18 loss to the Steelers at the Acrisure Stadium.

The cornerback played the first 27 defensive snaps before Daboll, 49, pulled him for the rest of the game.
However, the New York boss will give him another shot on Sunday when the Giants host the Commanders at the MetLife Stadium.
Daboll said: “I know he certainly will give everything he has.
“We made that decision and went in a different direction.
“I have full confidence in Tae [Banks] that he will be ready to go this week, and we’ll do everything we can to help him be ready.
“I’m focused on moving forward here with Tae. I think he’ll approach this week with the right mindset and the right attitude.”
Banks said after the game that his benching was for “missed tackles, I guess.”
The Baltimore native added: “I didn’t really think I was playing bad, but it’s not my choice.’’
The Giants entered the season with high hopes for Banks as they even believed he could shadow some of the NFL’s best receivers.
However, even at full strength, cornerback is a weakness for the New York roster.
Adoree’ Jackson, Tre Hawkins and Cor’Dale Flott are currently dealing with injuries.
The Giants have been enduring a poor season that saw them lose six out of their first eight games in the NFL.
