Jude Law, 51, has revealed he has 'moved on' from the time in his life when he was engaged to Sienna Miller, as he posed for a soft new shoot with VARIETY

Jude Law has revealed he has ‘moved on’ since the time in his life when he was engaged to Sienna Miller, as he posed for a soft new shoot with VARIETY.

The actor, 51, told the publication ‘that time in his life is over now’ after his relationship was the center of huge public attention.

Jude and Sienna split in 2006 after his affair with his children’s nanny, Daisy Wright, became public in 2005, and the actress said in 2020 that she found the scandal “very difficult.”

Speaking about his and Sienna’s time when he was engaged, Jude said: ‘That time is over now and I’ve distanced myself from it. And luckily the attention of the photographers and the curious eyes are also focused on me.

‘But I have had to learn to live in such a way that they stay at a distance. And I must treat the privacy of my children and my partner in the same way.’

Sienna and Jude first met on the set of their film Alfie, and the pair got engaged on Christmas Day in 2004 after almost a year of dating.

She broke off the engagement following news of his affair, with the couple splitting in November 2006 after failing to save their relationship.

They reconnected in late 2009 when they both starred on Broadway, with Sienna even spending Christmas with Jude and three of his children in Barbados, but they split again in February 2011.

Before meeting Sienna, Jude was married to Sadie Frost – with whom he shares three of his children, son Rafferty, 24, Iris, 20, and Rudy, 18 – but they divorced in 2003, after six years of marriage.

Jude is now married to psychologist Phillipa Coan, 32, who he was first spotted with at the Hay literary festival in 2015.

The couple tied the knot at London’s Old Marylebone Town Hall in 2019, before partying in Mayfair – three months after the actor announced their engagement. They have two children together.

The actor also has daughter Sophia, 15, with model Samantha Burke and Ada, nine, with musician Catherine Harding.

Jude also discussed his role in upcoming film Eden and shared that he shot a full frontal nude scene for the first time.

The film focuses on a group of settlers in the Galápagos who want extreme privacy and therefore spend much of their time together naked.

The star, who only agreed to the role after several lengthy meetings with creator John Watts, said he found it “really interesting” given the technical insight into how a major Star Wars project came together.

He said: ‘It was a very interesting process. It’s technically complicated to get those things right; you’re dealing with animatronics and puppets and machines and huge, complicated worlds.

“I’m the guy who wants to see how the Wizard does it… It all has to go through the ‘Star Wars’ filter. For example, there are no buttons in “Star Wars,” only ties. Buckles? Yes. Velcro? Yes. Although, I don’t think you ever see the Velcro… There are certain shots you’re not allowed to do when you’re the director.

‘You can’t go through the glass of the spaceship; you must stay outside as well as inside. I love that. You see the shot and say, “Oh, I’m in Star Wars.”

Jude’s performance as a cop who takes on real-life white supremacist group The Order received a seven-minute standing ovation at the festival.

He said of his character: “He had a kind of lived-in quality that I enjoyed.

“There was a lot of discussion about facial hair, but every agent I interviewed had a mustache, so it was a given that I had to grow one.”

Also starring are Alison Oliver, Tye Sheridan, Jurnee Smollett and Nicholas Hoult.

Nicholas plays The Order leader Bob Mathews, an American neo-Nazi who led the white supremacist group in 1983.

Nicholas revealed that the film’s director Justin Kurzel gave each actor a “manifesto” for their character, including tasks they had to complete.

“I just found out on the boat that one of Jude’s jobs was to shadow me for the day!” he said.

“He followed me for a day when I landed in Calgary.”

At The Order’s Venice Film Festival press conference, Jude spoke about the importance of the film at a time when far-right ideologies are on the rise again.

“Unfortunately, the relevance speaks for itself,” he said. ‘It felt like a piece of work that had to be done now. It is always interesting to find a piece from the past that has a relevant relationship with the present.”

Director Justin agreed with Law, adding that the film’s parallels to today’s world made it so interesting to make.

It’s always something extraordinary when you come across a piece of writing or an event from the past that has a certain perspective that can have a conversation with contemporary politics. That’s a rare gem. So we felt like a lot was being said about today.
