With their recent struggles, many eyes have focused on McCarthy.

He is in his fifth year as the head coach of the Cowboys, but still hasn’t found much success with the team.

Despite having a 45-29 record in Dallas, he only has one playoff win and hasn’t made it to a Super Bowl.

This kind of performance is below the standard for the Cowboys, and many fans are wondering why McCarthy is still coaching the team.

While they voice their concerns, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones seems uninterested in a coaching change.

Instead, Jones is trying to find ways to look at the positives of his team.

“That’s a tough place to play,” McCarthy said on 105.3 The Fan.

“It’s a competitive game that we’re really looking forward to and I do feel strongly about the way our guys have come off of the bye.

“They’ve been very accountable and engaged into the things that we need to focus on, and we had a hell of a practice.

“So, felt great watching the tape, we just got to keep it about ourselves.”

Earlier this month, Jones also put his foot down saying he wasn’t considering changing coaches.

“I’m not considering that. Just so you’re clear, I’m not considering that,” Jones said.

“Well, we’re disappointed that we’re 3-3 (now 4-3). The three-loss side of it, I don’t necessarily totally blame on McCarthy.

“The players will tell you they had something to do with it, too. His other parts of the staff will tell you.

“And the owner sure will tell you he had something to do with it, so it’s not all on him.

“Generally speaking, I think my message is, I know you don’t need to hear me say this, but I’m well aware that we’re in the proverbial s— right now.”

It seems likely that if the Cowboys don’t make the playoffs this season, McCarthy will be fired.

There are some strong candidates available this offseason, including legendary head coach Bill Belichick.

There is no telling if Belichick and Jones would work well together, but it is certainly an exciting prospect for Cowboys fans.

Jones likely won’t make a midseason coaching change, but time will tell if more losses inspire him to do something drastic.
