Good Morning Britain host Adil Ray has taken aim at Jamie Oliver, taking a swipe at his efforts in his new cookery series.
Having watched an episode of Jamie: Fast and Simple on Monday night, a clearly underwhelmed Adil took to X to share his views on one of Jamie’s more basic culinary creations.

Jamie, seen here with wife Jools, has faced plenty of criticism over the years[/caption]
“Jamie Oliver just cooked a curry using a supermarket curry paste and microwaved a popadom. I think I might try to do a cooking show,” the Lingo presenter sniped on social media.
But one X user came to the defence of the 49-year-old TV chef, saying: “The curry paste was his own”.
Others were less sympathetic however, with one saying: “He can’t still be doing things like this after 20 years in the game”, while another goes so far as to describe Oliver’s offerings as “an abomination”.
To be fair to Jamie, who came to prominence throigh late nineties cookery show The Naked Chef, he did previously explain that the concept of his latest show would be making use of shop bought items often discarded at the back of cupboards.
Sharing the premise of Fast and Simple, he said: “Anyone who knows me knows how much I love tinned beans….they’re budget friendly and live happily in your cupboard for ages AND they have an incredible ability to take on flavours from all over the world !
“And this expression of them is just one of the recipes in my new series Jamie: Fast & Simple on Channel 4.”
Some of Jamie’s previous programmes haven’t exactly been immune from criticism either, including Jamie’s Air Fryer Meals, which was shown on the same channel earlier this year.
The programme was filmed in conjunction with electronics company Tefal – who specialise in air fryers – with some suggesting it was no more than a glorified advert for the brand.
Although fellow TV and Channel 4 star Kirstie Allsopp came to Jamie’s defence, and insisted her gushing praise had nothing to do with the Location, Location, Location co-host working for the same channel either.
She said: “No one beats @jamieoliver, his new Air Fryer show on Channel 4 is brilliant.
“[To be honest], if it was on any channel I’d be saying the same.
“25 years since The Naked Chef he is still the most inspiring and enthusiastic chef on TV.”
