D11 hosting career fair for apprenticeships

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — Colorado Springs School District 11 (D11) is working with local industry leaders to help reshape the future workforce through apprenticeships with a career fair at Roy J. Wasson Academic Campus on Tuesday, Oct. 29.

According to D11, the event will connect over 300 high school students with top employers across the region including the Broadmoor, Mike Maroone Automotive, and CommonSpirit.

D11 said the goal of the career fair is to help address critical workforce shortages show students a pathway and show young adults the benefits of “earn while you learn” apprenticeships.

“D11 and its partners recognize apprenticeships as a crucial step in reimagining and growing the local economy,” writes D11. “This event provides a unique platform for students to ask questions, explore available programs, and see how apprenticeships can lead to fulfilling in-demand careers.”

The event on Tuesday runs from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Wasson Academic Campus located at 2115 Afton Way.
