LAST year we saw Steven Frayne – the magician formerly known as Dynamo – kill off his famous alter ego.
Now he’s back with a new Sky Christmas show, appropriately called Miracles, where he will be meeting local heroes around the country while showing off his best tricks.
Steven is going back to his roots and hitting the streets of the UK over the festive period.
A Sky spokesman said: “The magic builds to an astonishing climax in which Steven will take the ultimate risk, pushing himself to the limit for a death-defying finale — the miracle to end all miracles.
“Get ready for a show filled with inspiration, wonder, and pure magic.”
In 2023 Steven was seen in Dynamo Is Dead, where he dug his own grave and buried himself alive in a live TV special with A-list assistants Cara Delevingne and Demi Lovato.
He also held candid conversations and his mental wellbeing and his personal struggles, particularly Crohn’s disease, which he’s suffered since he was a teenager.
Steven rose to fame as Dynamo in the Noughties which led to a string of TV shows including series Dynamo: Magician Impossible.
Now he’s starting a whole new chapter in his life and career, returning to his old name of Steven, which he was given when he was born in his native Bradford 41 years ago.
Saving lives
Miracles will see him meet special people who have been nominated by friends and family for their huge achievements such as helping their community, living with a disability or saving lives.
The one-off, 90-minute show will air over the festive period on Sky Max and streaming service NOW, with the exact date announced soon.
Feline like a change
HE’S done everything from comedy to music and documentaries –now David Baddiel is feline like a change.
The comic says he is now planning a show about cats.
Talking on Russell Howard’s Wonderbox podcast, out today, David explained: “I just want to do shows where I will enjoy myself and I can’t think of anything I’d enjoy more than going to meet a lot of cats.
“People who don’t have cats, and I’ve noticed this with this TV show, is they say, ‘Well they don’t do anything, dogs have personalities’. That’s completely wrong. I’ve had loads of cats in my life, I presently have four.
“When I fell in love with Morwenna, my present wife, I gave her a rescue cat called Monkey early on, which is quite strange. I clearly wanted to seal the deal because a cat is not just for Christmas.
“When we put Monkey down I cried more than either of my parents’ deaths.”
PERRIE IS BOOKED BY CBEEBIES

LITTLE MIX star Perrie Edwards looks in the pink for this first look at her CBeebies Bedtime Story.
Sporting silky feather-trimmed pyjamas, the singer reads The Shape Of My Heart by Mark Sperring and Alys Paterson, for the kids’ show.
She joins music stars including Sir Elton John, The Spice Girls’ Mel C, One Direction’s Zayn Malik, Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl and Abbas Bjorn Ulvaeus who have already appeared on the programme.
The story chosen by Perrie – who is mum to three-year-old son Axel – explores the different shapes of a child’s world.
Perrie said: “I love watching CBeebies Bedtime Stories with my little one so it was very special to be invited to read one myself.
“I hope people have as much fun watching as I did reading.”
She will read the story on Friday at 6.50pm and return for a second episode at a later date, with details currently under wraps.
WHAM! AT LAST ON BBC
POP legends Wham! will be at the centre of the BBC’s festive celebrations this year.
Marking 40 years since the release of George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley’s hit Last Christmas, BBC Two will take a look back at the global Yuletide hit.
The film will see artists, producers and industry experts discuss what made the tune such a smash.
Andrew and Wham! backing singers Shirley Kemp and Pepsi Demaque-Crockett will revisit the Alps where the video was filmed and share memories of frontman George, who died on Christmas Day 2016.
Discussing Wham!: Last Christmas Unwrapped, Andrew said: “Revisiting this, four decades on, with some of my closest friends was special.”
