AN easy-to-miss Sky TV trick lets you skip right past those boring ads.
It’s built right into your Sky TV remote – but it’s not the most obvious.
Hitting that microphone button on your Sky remote is more useful than you think[/caption]
Many Sky TV remotes now have voice controls built in.
This has a long list of benefits, including the ability to quickly launch apps or find specific channels.
But it also lets you quickly control playback on your TV.
It’s not wildly useful if you’re watching live, but it has a big benefit if you’re viewing pre-recorded content.
That’s because you can ask it to skip a certain amount of time.
So you could say “skip three minutes” and you’d shoot forward through the TV show.
It’s an extremely easy way to skip an entire ad break without having to manually fast-forward.
You can also skip to a specific time in a show too, all with a voice command.
Using the Sky voice controls are really easy too.
First, check to see if your Sky remote has a microphone button: that means it can accept voice commands.
Now hold the Sky remote in front of you, then press and hold the microphone button.
The actual microphone itself is located just below the Sky button, so that’s where you’ll want to speak into.
Once you’re done speaking, let go of the voice button and your request will be processed.
You can say things in several ways, so you could say “skip three minutes”, “fast forward two minutes”, “skip ahead by four minutes”, and so on.

The location of the microphone button depends on the type of Sky remote that you have[/caption]
