Kmart Australia shoppers have discovered a little-known bargain to spruce up your kitchen before summer.
The 9-liter water filter dispenser ($39) is being called a ‘must have’ for every household.
It is an inexpensive alternative to other water filter pitchers of similar size that can cost up to $300.
You can place the Kmart buy in your refrigerator and thanks to the family-friendly size, there is enough chilled drinking water for everyone.
‘I love the size, it was easy to put together and it doesn’t drip at all,” mum from Brisbane Dina Santos said online.
The filter cannot remove fluoride, but it reduces impurities in tap water and improves taste, smell and clarity, giving Australians an economical alternative to bottled water.
‘This is an amazingly sized dispenser and we are very happy with it,” said Dina. ‘We can certainly taste the difference with our water.’
“Great option for those of us who don’t have a fancy refrigerator with water supply,” one woman said. ‘We process so many bottles of water per week, maybe I should invest in that.’

“I need one,” wrote another. ‘I like the size. I wanted to filter our water again, but the Brita jug is too small.’
“This is so helpful,” one woman said.
One mum added: ‘I love that this is family sized. Also a good shape for the refrigerator.’
Dina said she uses the filters from the Australian brand Brita in the Kmart dispenser.
However, some buyers were dissatisfied with the fact that the product was made of plastic.
“The vessel must be made of glass,” said one.
‘Great little device but unfortunately not getting rid of the fluoride is a major negative,’ added another.
