Wandering toddler found in nearby convenience store

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — A child was found barefoot and in pajamas at a convenience store, prompting a call to the Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) on Sunday, Oct. 27, around 2 a.m.

According to CSPD, when officers arrived at the 6400 block of Issaquah Drive, near Dublin Boulevard and Mark Sheffel Road, they learned that the child, who was around 3 years old, had walked into the convenience store. The child told police he had walked out the front door of his home because his parents were gone and he was scared.

Officers checked the area and spoke with neighbors but were unable to locate the child’s home or parents. Officers notified the Department of Human Services (DHS) who took the child.
