Natasha (@traderjoeslist) has garnered almost 2 million followers on Instagram, where she shares her latest finds at Trader Joe’s.

She went viral on the social media app when she shared her excitement at the return of a fish product.

“If you guys like ahi tuna or smoked tuna, the sesame crusted hardwood smoked ahi tuna is back,” she said.

Natasha was delighted that the fish was wild-caught and that each pack contained 27 grams of protein.

She described it as “delicious” and having a smokey flavor as she took a bite.

Plans to put it in a rice bowl were abandoned as she continued to eat it straight out of the packet.

“It tastes super fresh and no fishy flavour,” she said.

Natasha saved the time it would take to hunt around the store by revealing the aisle where she found it.

“You can find the ahi tuna where they have all the fresh fish like the salmon, cod, you can also find the smoked ahi tuna there,” she said.

The $6.99 product which hasn’t been at Trader Joe’s since around 2021 can also be used to make salads.

Almost 8,000 people liked Natasha’s video and many viewers shared their excitement to try the fish for themselves.

“Looks yummy! I’ve never seen it before,” one person said.

“This is my favorite TJs item,” another wrote.

“I check every week hoping and last week I was so excited when I saw it.

“I even had to tell the cashier my excitement. He wasn’t as thrilled as me.”

How to cut the cost of your grocery shop

BELOW are some tips on how to reduce the amount you spend on groceries.

  • Write yourself a list – Only buy items that you need. If it isn’t on your list, don’t put it in the trolley
  • Create a budget – Work out a weekly budget for your food shopping
  • Never shop hungry – You are far more likely to buy  more food if your tummy is rumbling
  • Don’t buy pre-chopped veggies or fruit – The extra they’ll charge for chopping can be eye watering
  • Use social media – Follow your favourite retailers to find out about the latest deals
  • Be disloyal – You may want to go to different stores to find the best bargains
  • Check the small print –  It’s always worth checking the price per kg/lb/litre when comparing offers so you’re making a like for like decision as a bigger box won’t necessarily mean you get more
  • Use your loyalty cards – Don’t be afraid to sign up to them all. They all work slightly differently – work out what bonus suits you better and remember to trade in your points for additional rewards

A third commenter revealed supplies of sesame crusted hardwood smoked ahi tuna were already starting to run low at their local Trader Joe’s.

“My TJs had one left happy!! My fav. Look forward to stocking up!!” they said.

“I have been waiting for this to come back for FOREVER!” another chimed in.

“What?! I look for that every time I’m in TJ’s,” a third said.

“I was there today and glanced over there and didn’t really think it was going to be there.

“I’m going to have to go tomorrow to pick some up.”
