I was on Rich House, Poor House, it wasn’t staged & I had to eat burgers with no bread despite being worth £10m at 25

FREESTYLE footballer Liv Cooke found fame and fortune thanks to her impressive sporting career and having million of followers on social media.

Having banked a reported £10million by the age of 25, she has become one of the UK’s wealthiest social media stars but has now embraced a challenge that is worlds away from her current lifestyle of flashy cars and designer gear.

Liv is one of the stars of the current run of Channel 5 series Rich House, Poor House where she will be swapping her millionaire’s lifestyle to slum it in one of Britain’s poorest households.

Having reluctantly agreed to take part in the series, Liv has spoken to The Sun in an exclusive interview about what filming the show is really like and how she coped living for a week on the same amount of money that she would usually drop on one slap-up meal.

Admitting she thought the magic of television would come into play, Liv told us how she was left shocked to find out the show was entirely real as she was forced to walk in the poor family’s shoes day and night for the full week.

Liv said: “Do you know what going into it I thought, it’s TV, it’ll be staged.

“They’ll be sneaking in extra food. We’ll know where we’re going and we’ll we’ll sign off on the family that we’re swapping with.

“Was I wrong? Oh, my God, I was so wrong!

“I didn’t have a clue. It’s all real. You actually do experience their life. There’s ups and downs. It’s an emotional roller coaster, for sure.

“Some days I was laughing. Some days I loved it. Other days I was crying.”

The realities of life quickly set in for Liv as she recalled being humbled by the experience and expressed empathy when realising just how little cash the family had to live off.

The TikTok star told The Sun: “I understood how much cash they actually had every week.

“To see somebody live off that… I couldn’t comprehend it and I couldn’t do it.

“I tried to do it but ended up with burgers with no bread and everything – I was a mess.”

With difficulty dishing up the budget during filming, Liv was forced to turn to the help of a shop assistant in order for her to gain some advice on how best to budget and shop effectively.

During filming, Liv was able to find out more about the people involved in the house swap and was surprised to discover the family knew who she was and were fans of her footballing career.

It led to an emotional meeting where Liv admitted she “bawled my eyed out” as she learned first hand about the struggles and debt the family had found themselves in.

Having accrued millions of pounds thanks to her social media endeavours and thriving propety business, Liv wasted no time in offering to clear the couple’s debts in order to help them have a fresh start.

Her genourosity was shown even further when she enrolled them on her mentoring course which helps those looking to get into the property world and make themselves a mint whilst they’re at it.

Liv invested her social media money wisely into flipping a series of homes across the North West and has seen her income rise thanks to her keen eye for a top renovation.

Speaking about offering up a free trial on her course, Liv said: “I think anybody can become successful if you put your mind to it, and you actually put the work in, and you don’t adopt this excuse, mindset or victim mindset.

“If you believe you can achieve anything, you will achieve what you want to.

“My only concern is how long they’ve been in this, ‘what’s the point, attitude now’?

“They have come to it into the training with good energy. If that persists, then they will be successful.

“But I will never guarantee, and I never guarantee to any of my mentees or anybody that works with me, that you will be successful.

“I can only guarantee I’m going to give you the tools and the skills that you need to become successful.”

One of Liv’s first-ever students managed to turn her life around in the space of 12 months thanks to her mentorship programme.

The student went from struggling in a council house to being a multi-millionaire within the space of a year.

Hitting back at critics of online mentoring guru’s, Liv quipped: “I think a lot of people don’t believe it as well, there’s so many people online that reply to what we do, and they’re just hating on it.

“And it comes from, I believe, a place of their own disbelief and their own limitations.

“I get it like it happens a lot like if I’m there posting about a student who joined me 12 months ago, and now she’s a millionaire like ‘she did this, and she did that and you can too.’ And some negative person is at home, seeing that they’re gonna think that’s not true, that’s not true.

“I get it, I get it but I’d like to actually take one of those people on and show them that they can do it too.”

Reflecting on her success and how she has been able to use her wealth and platform for good, the star recalled: “I’m more proud of the impact I can make.

“Now, I’m very, very grateful to be in a position where I can help people that I can actually change people’s lives.

“I am proud of being able to teach somebody and give somebody the skill set to change theirs and the family’s life for generations to come.”
