Victim Assistance Centers To Open This Week

North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Mike Causey has announced that Victim Assistance Centers (VACs) will open in Brevard, Marion, Jefferson, Lenoir, Sylva and Old Fort to aid those affected by Hurricane Helene.

The following VACs will be open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.:

Tuesday, Oct. 29, at the McDowell County Senior Center, 100 Spaulding Road in Marion.

Wednesday, Oct. 30, Caldwell HHS Building, 2345 Morganton Blvd. SW in Lenoir.

Wednesday, Nov. 6, AC Bud Hogan Community Center, 909 E. Main Street in Old Fort.

“We are working to set up additional VACs and will continue to coordinate with law enforcement agencies, fire departments, rescue squads, civic groups, charities and churches to assist victims of this terrible storm,” Commissioner Causey said. “The Department of Insurance will continue to host events to help with insurance claims and other needs.”
