(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) has identified a man who was killed in a crash involving a city bus earlier in October.
According to CSPD, officers responded to a crash involving a city bus and an SUV shortly after 7:45 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 12, at the intersection of Austin Bluffs Parkway and Regent Circle, near the University of Colorado Colorado Springs (UCCS).
CSPD said the investigation revealed that the city bus had a green light when the SUV hit it.
The SUV driver was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The driver died at the hospital the next day.
On Oct. 14, the El Paso County Coroner identified the driver as 46-year-old Anthony Durham.
This is the 43rd fatal crash in Colorado Springs of 2024. At the same time in 2023, there had been 41 fatalities.
