SPOTIFY Wrapped is one of the most exciting moments in a music lover’s year, as the streaming service unveils the artists they have listened to the most.
Some users have hailed it as the “best day of the year” and expectations are high as the Spotify Wrapped season draws near.

What is Spotify Wrapped?
Spotify Wrapped is a once-a-year feature which gives listeners an insight into which artists they have been listening to the most.
The app gives them a list of their top five most listened to artists and songs, alongside a slew of different features that are unique to each year.
For example, in 2023, there was the “sound town” feature where users were told which global city had a similar listening habits to them.
When is Spotify Wrapped?
The streaming service have kept the event’s release day under wraps for now, but Spotify Wrapped has been dropping earlier every year.
In 2020 and 2021, it dropped on December 1,
Just one year earlier, it released on December 5.
The trend continued and, by 2022, Spotify Wrapped landed on the streaming service on November 30.
When does Spotify Wrapped stop tracking?
Spotify keep much of the maths behind their beloved feature a secret and rarely give users a peek behind the curtain.
As Spotify Wrapped isn’t released at the very end of the year, there is some ambiguity as to when it actually stops tracking what you have been listening to.
However, the streaming service did debunk rumours that they stop tracking a user’s listening patterns in October.
Which artists topped the Spotify Wrapped 2023 chart?
Taylor Swift was the most streamed artist in 2023, with her hit songs recieving a whopping total of 26.1 billion streams.
She was followed by Bad Bunny, The Weeknd, Drake and Peso Pluma.
Swift ended Bad Bunny’s two year streak as the most listened to artist in the world, when she became the first ever female singer to top the list.
Female artists occupied the last three spots on the top ten list though, with SZA coming in eighth, Karol G coming in ninth and pop icon Lana Del Rey coming in tenth.
