Hamas terrorist who worked for United Nations killed in airstrike… but UN chief accused of MOURNING loss of ‘colleague’

THE head of the United Nations has been banned from Israel after being accused of mourning the death of an October 7 terrorist killed in Gaza.

Cold-blooded killer Mohammad Abu Itiwi led the massacre of Nova Festival fans slaughtered as they cowered in shelters and was later revealed to be a United Nations UNRWA aid worker.

His death has been lamented by UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres who described the savage as a “colleague” – sparking fury in Israel.

Foreign Minister Israel Katz led a backlash yesterday amid rising claims of UN bias against the embattled Jewish state.

Mr Katz said: “UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, declared persona non grata in Israel, has reached new heights of hypocrisy and insensitivity.

“Last night, he lamented the elimination of their “UNRWA colleague” by IDF forces in Gaza.

“Who exactly is he mourning? Mohammad Abu Itiwi, a commander in the Nukhba Unit of the Al-Bureij Battalion, who led the massacre in the shelter in Re’im on October 7, and whose details were exposed by the IDF.

“Guterres and UNRWA are complicit in war crimes.”

UNRWA has confirmed that one of its staffers was killed by an Israeli strike in Gaza after Israel named him as a Hamas commander.

Attawi, who led the killing and kidnapping of Israelis from a roadside bomb shelter near Kibbutz Re’im on October 7 last year, has been a driver with the UN funded agency since July 2022.

Israeli intelligence chiefs say was among several staff from the agency – funded by western taxpayers – who took part in the massacres of 1,200 and kidnapping of 251 hostages.

He has also been identified in video footage taken during the massacres but no action was taken against him.

The attack on Guterres came after a former Israeli hostage begged the UN for support while revealing her rape hell at the hands of a Hamas captor.

Freed survivor Amit Soussana told the UN Security Council: “I urge you, It is your responsibility to protect human rights, to combat terrorism, and to bring those responsible for these heinous crimes to justice.

“The world is watching, waiting for the UN Security Council to live up to its mandate.”

Amit, who was kidnapped from her home in Kibbutz Kfar Aza and released last November, said: “I was held captive, alone, chained by my ankle with a metal chain, unable to move and had to ask for permission to use the bathroom.

“I was sexually assaulted by the Hamas terrorist who was guarding me.

Amit told the Security Council her captor forced her into the shower and sexually assaulted her at gunpoint “in the most horrifying way.”

She said: “He was breathing heavily and had a monstrous, beast-like face, scheming and waiting for the moment to have his way.”

“He kept asking me private sexual questions while sitting next to me in his underwear, lifting my shirt, touching me and constantly asking me when my period would be over.”

“When the assault was over, I wasn’t even allowed to cry or to be sad.”

“Not a day goes by that I don’t think about what that terrible man did to me, but I keep reminding myself that I am free now and that he can’t hurt me again.”

Fighting continued to rage in southern Lebanon where five Israeli soldiers were killed and 19 wounded by a Hezbollah rocket.

The men were killed when a building was blasted as they received supplies from a convoy in an Israeli occupied village.

It was later revealed that one of the five killed was the cousin of a hostage dragged to Gaza by Hamas terrorists during last year’s October 7 attacks last.

Warrant Officer Guy Idan, 51, was the cousin of Tsahi Idan, who was taken Kibbutz Nahal Oz after his oldest daughter Maayan, 18, was shot dead.

Four of the 19 injured in Thursday night’s rocket barrage on reservist soldiers were said to have been critically wounded.
