‘So warm and cosy, wear indoors to save on heating bills’ Asda have a Dry Robe dupe that’s the perfect winter coat

DRY Robes are the marmite of the coat world, you’re either a lover or a hater.

But you can’t knock their warmth.

Practical and warm, Dry Robes are an outdoor essential, but are expensive[/caption]

Intended to be worn after being in water, the coat has made its way into everyday life[/caption]

The maxi length, long sleeve and hooded changing robe was intended to be used as just that.

For getting in water to maintain your core temperature against the elements, as well as getting out of water you could put on your toasty robe and slip off your wet swimmers or wetsuits and instantly feel dry, toasty and warm.

Since, they have slipped into the mainstream and now everyone wears them pretty much everywhere.

And why not?

If you’re standing on the sidelines watching your kids football matches on a frosty morning, you’re going to want to be warm.

Or even waiting at the school gates and, these days, taking a trip down the frozen aisle at the supermarket

Celebrities like Michelle Keegan and Rita Ora pop them on in between takes whilst they’re filming their hit.

Fabulous’s Fashion Director Tracey Lea Sayer is a huge fan, she says: “It is perfect for dog walking on wet and windy days.

“It keeps the chill out when I head to do burpees at Saturday bootcamp in the park.

“And yes, I’m partial to a mad dash around Sainsbury’s in it.”

But the original brand doesn’t come cheap at £165.

But this winter George at Asda has a brilliant dupe that is so warm and cosy you wouldn’t be able to tell the difference between theirs and the expensive original.

The borg lined cover up will keep you warm all day and into the evening[/caption]

In classic black with a long cuffed sleeve to keep the cold out, George’s changing robe comes with the signature borg lining that makes you feel like you’re wearing a hug.

Plus it has a zip front and buttons so no wind is going to whistle through and its shower resistant.

Al for the sale price of £38.40, down from £48.

If you size up in this coat you can add to the comfort and wear your chunky knits underneath without feeling too constricted.

But, I’ve found another use for it.

When you get in from the cold don’t hang your coat up straight away, unzip it, fan it out like a blanket and snuggle into the sofa.

With the coat draped over you and it will keep you warm all evening long with no need to crank up the heating.

So not only will you look good out and about, you’ll be saving on heating bills, too.
