The Governor of Katsina State, Umaru Dikko Radda has said that the recently launched N5 billion matching fund for micro, small and medium enterprises in partnership with Bank of industry will go a long way to drive the growth of the sector in the state.
Radda stated this in Abuja on Thursday at a roundtable by Katsina State Enterprise Development Agency on boosting MSMEs with development partners
According to the governor, “The N5 billion MSME matching fund is part of efforts to boost MSME growth as it was first time such fund is available for businesses despite a BOI presence in Katsina for 8 years.
“Similarly, in collaboration with UNDP, we established a N542 Million Matching Fund to support SMEs in frontline local governments affected by conflict and are also remodelling the Katsina Industrial Development Centre and have established Common Facility Centers for fashion, printing, food processing, and ICT
“At this event we are flagging off another ambitious project for the identification, enumeration, and support of MSMEs situated along major road corridors in the 34 local government areas of Katsina State as the project aims to map out businesses in strategic locations, ensuring that no enterprise is left behind,” he said.
