Kroger apologizes after pharmacy website fails for ‘more than a week’ and shoppers are left begging for help

KROGER apologizes after pharmacy website fails for “more than a week” and shoppers are left begging for help online.

The retailer ranks among the top five largest general retailers in the United States.

Kroger also operates as the 4th largest pharmacy in the US.

With Kroger Pharmacy, customers can access prescriptions, vaccinations and health screenings all in the same store they shop in for groceries.

As stated on its website: “Easily manage your Kroger pharmacy prescriptions online.

“Request a refill, set up auto refill, check order status, receive text notifications and more.”

As convenient and simple as it sounds, it seems one unhappy customer begs to differ.

The customer took to X, formerly known as Twitter to air their frustration.

They posted: “@kroger I haven’t been able to get into my pharmacy refill website for more than a week.

“I sent a message to you and got no response. Please help.”

Kroger replied to the customer on the same day.

A spokesperson said: “Hi Pamela! Thank you for reaching out and we’re very sorry to hear that you can’t login to your pharmacy account.

“This is not the experience we want for our customers to have.

“You may contact our Online Pharmacy Team at 1-855-489-2502 and they will further assist you. Thank you.”

To which Pamela replied: “Thank you. He was very helpful.”

How do I sign up?

Click the home page menu on Kroger’s website and then select My Prescriptions.

Then sign in with your username and password.

If you don’t already have an account, create one by selecting “Create an Account”.

If you are planning on paying for your prescriptions online, make sure your Shopper’s Card or Alt ID is linked to your account.

Then fill out the patient information requirements to manage prescriptions, pay online, and access Auto Refill.

What if I can’t log in again?

Kroger says if you can’t remember your email address when you go to log in again, call the Customer Service team at 855-489-2502.

Or select “Forgot Password” if appropriate.

After five incorrect attempts at logging in, your account will automatically lock.

You should then receive instructions via an email from Kroger telling you what to do.

The self checkout malfunction

It comes after Kroger apologized to a shopper after they lashed out at the retailer following their in-store experience.

The shopper claimed the store in Birmingham, Michigan, was a mess after the self-checkout machines malfunctioned.

They were incandescent with rage, claiming they “felt like a fool” waiting for assistance at the register, according to the X post.

The shopper said it was the last time they would use the Kroger outlet.

They claimed lines for the self-service machines were “30 deep.”

“Machines freezing up. Took over ten minutes to wait for a manager to override,” they said.

A Kroger spokesperson replied and apologized for the inconvenience the shopper seemed to be experiencing.

But the shopper wasn’t convinced by the retailer’s response and said: I’m done.”

Kroger invited the furious customer to send the chain a direct message as part of its probe.

The overcharge issue

In August, Kroger apologized to a customer after overcharging them by $110 on their credit card.

Neither the store nor Kroger’s corporate office could locate the charge made to the customer’s card to issue a refund.

The customer tweeted that they were overcharged by approximately $110 on their credit card at a Mariano’s store, one of the many chains owned by Kroger.

The shopper, who tagged Kroger in their tweet, expressed their exasperation with the situation.

“@kroger I was overcharged by about $110 on my credit card at a Marianos and neither the store or office can find the charge to be able to refund the difference,” read the tweet.

In response, Kroger’s official X account promptly issued an apology and offered to assist in resolving the matter.

“Oh no!” the chain wrote.

“We are so sorry about this. We will look into your account to identify what would be the best resolution.

“May we ask you to send us a DM with the loyalty card number and the transaction date?”

It remains unclear whether the customer followed through with Kroger’s request to provide additional information via direct message.
