Alabama star Germie Bernard breaks silence after shock allegations made against QB Jalen Milroe following Tennessee loss

ALABAMA Crimson Tide wide receiver Germie Bernard opened up on criticisms that have gone Jalen Milroe’s way after the team’s stunning 24-17 loss to the Tennesee Volunteers last weekend.

The Crimson Tide signal-caller Milroe, 21, has struggled for the majority of October.

Once a 2025 Heisman Trophy hopeful, Milroe has thrown five interceptions in the last three games compared to just one in the first four contests.

During the loss to the Volunteers, he also didn’t complete a pass over 20 yards and was 6-for-17 on passes thrown for 10 or more yards with no touchdowns and one interception, per Pro Football Focus.

However, fans have now accused Milroe of intentionally targeting the 17-year-old wide receiver Ryan Williams, targeting him 18 times, versus targeting the next closest receiver – Kendrick Law and Bernard – just five times

After Tuesday’s practice, the 20-year-old wideout Bernard handed out his support to Milroe amid the accusations.

“We always have J-Mil’s back,” Bernard said.

“Whether the ball is in our vicinity, we have to be better at making those plays when those opportunities come our way.”

Alabama insider Mike Rodak also shared a message from Bernard to Milroe.

“Don’t listen to any of the doubters—like he says, the naysayers. I always tell him, I’ve got your back no matter what anybody else says. I keep reminding him so he doesn’t get down on himself,” Rodak wrote on X.

Milroe hasn’t been able to showcase his abilities since he led the Crimson Tide to a victory over the Georgia Bulldogs on September 28.

The 21-year-old completed 27 of 33 passes for two touchdowns and one interception with a 98.8 passer rating.

Alabama offensive coordinator Nick Sheridan took accountability for the team’s last loss and doesn’t have worries about Milroe’s play moving forward.

“I think none of us coached or played well enough in the game Saturday, and that starts with me,” Sheridan said.

“Our ability to execute consistently and take advantage of the opportunities that were presented, we obviously fell short in those spots.

“It’s all of us. We’re all involved in that. Jalen’s an extremely confident player.

“I have no concerns [about] that at all.

“His preparation creates that confidence for him, and he’ll get back to work this week just like the rest of our players will.”

Head coach Kalen DeBoer’s No. 15 ranked Crimson Tide will face the No. 22 ranked Missouri Tigers this weekend.

Alabama will need to have a winning streak to reach the College Football Playoff.

This is the first year of the Crimson Tide being under DeBoer after the legendary six national championship run from Nick Saban.
