ACTOR Richard E Grant has hit out at an unnamed ‘household name’ for treating his daughter “appallingly” on the set of a TV show.
The TV star made the bold claims, but refused to name the individual, in a brand new interview where he hit out at stars who treated members of staff on set badly.

Richard, 67, was singing the praises of runners in the TV and film industry as he hailed them as the most “underappreciated” individuals in the sector.
A runner is a member of staff working on film and TV sets behind the scenes who often works directly with talent in order to help them fulfil any personal requests as well as taking food and drink orders, transport props and communicate messages between other members of the production.
Richard’s daughter Olivia, like many other production hopefuls, got her break in the industry by starting out as a runner.
Speaking to Sky News, he blasted those stars who are “appalling” to members of staff as he made his stance on the subject abundantly clear.
He told the broadcaster: “The runners [are the most under-appreciated], who are paid the least amount of money.
“They’re the youngest. They get there at five in the morning, they’re the last to leave, and if anything goes wrong, they get flung from a dizzy height.
“I know because my daughter was a runner for two years and was appallingly treated by some very well known household names, in England.”
In a shocking twist, he admitted that when they discovered he was Olivia’s father, they began acting differently towards her.
The Withnail and I actor said they “changed their tune” upon “finding out” about her connections.
He added: “[That] made it worse.
“It made me damn those people even more.”
He clarified that he had gone on to meet one of the stars who had treated Olivia disrespectfully but made it clear he had no intentions of ever clapping eyes on him again.
Richard said: “I’ve met one person, yeah, and I’ll never speak to him again.”
Having started out as a runner, Olivia has now been able to further her career despite her negative experiences in the industry.
Olivia has moved into casting, working as a casting director for programmes such as the Apple TV+ hit Masters of the Air as well as the Lee Miller movie Lee.
