‘It had been horrendous but we stayed strong for the family’ – Inside Paris Fury’s miscarriage struggles & 10-kid dreams

TYSON Fury has revealed that wife Paris tragically suffered a miscarriage just hours before his defeat to Oleksandr Usyk.

The Morecambe-based couple, who have opened up about wanting 10 kids, have been through the heartbreak three times now, having also lost babies in 2014 and 2018.

Family loss

The former heavyweight world champion lost to Ukrainian Usyk in Saudi Arabia on May 18 this year – and Paris had been due to arrive in Riyadh on the Friday, the day before the fight.

However, the 34-year-old called to tell her husband that she would not make the trip – selflessly blaming high blood pressure.

Tyson has now bravely opened up that it was because they had lost their baby boy, who would have been their eighth child.

The boxer had publicly hinted that Paris was pregnant with baby No8 on social media back in March.

They currently are parents to Venezuela, 15, Prince John James, 13, Prince Tyson Fury II, eight, Valencia Amber, six, Prince Adonis, five, Athena, three – and welcomed their seventh child, Prince Rico Paris, last September.

Tyson does not want the heart-wrenching family tragedy to be blamed as an excuse for his first pro defeat.

Dreams of 10 kids

In her book, Love and Fury: The Magic and Mayhem of Life with Tyson, Paris said: “Tyson and I had always intended to carry on the great Traveller tradition and have a big family: three children at the very least, we’d say to each other, maybe even ten if we were lucky.”

When asked about having more kids, Tyson told The Daily Mail he wants 11 – enough for a “mixed football team playing on the pitch at Morecambe.”

Stillbirth pain

While they’ve so far been blessed with numerous beautiful children, they have experienced heartbreak on their pregnancy journey.

In 2014, they tragically lost a baby when Paris was five months pregnant with their third child, and she was forced to endure a stillbirth.

What did Tyson Fury say about Paris’ miscarriage?

TYSON Fury revealed wife Paris tragically suffered a miscarriage just hours before his defeat to Oleksandr Usyk.

Ahead of the December 21 rematch, Fury explained: “The one that she was having, she lost that on the Friday of the fight, which was pretty s****y.

“I am not making excuses but she was six months pregnant, it’s not like a small miscarriage at the beginning, you have to physically give birth to a dead child, on your own, while your husband is in a foreign country.

“I could not be there for her in that moment. And that is tough for me.

“She usually comes out on fight week but she said she had high blood pressure.

“She said she couldn’t come and I asked her what was up and asked her to tell me but she wouldn’t.

“So I knew, I knew, I knew there was a problem. I said to my brother, ‘She’s lost that baby.’

“She never told me she had lost the baby, but I knew.”

Paris said began suffering some complications so Tyson had to rush her into hospital.

She wrote: “Following some tests and scans, we received the devastating news that the baby’s heart had stopped beating.

“There was nothing the medical team could do.

“A midwife then gently broke the news to me that, although the baby was no longer alive, its advanced development meant I had no other option but to proceed with a delivery.

What is the difference beween a stillbirth and miscarriage?

According to the NHS: “A stillbirth is when a baby is born dead after 24 completed weeks of pregnancy.

“It happens in around 1 in every 250 births in England.

“If the baby dies before 24 completed weeks, it’s known as a miscarriage or late foetal loss.”

“Never in my life had I felt so scared and upset.

“All I’ll say is I’d hate any other woman to experience in their lifetime what I had to endure that day. It was crushing.

“Tyson was distraught, but still managed to be my rock throughout, squeezing my hand, stroking my forehead, telling me over and over again how much he and the kids loved me.

“We never spoke much about the baby. It had happened, and it had been horrendous, but we both agreed to try to move forward, and stay strong for the sake of the family.”

And it wasn’t the only tragedy they have suffered.

Paris Fury reveals she is a ‘nervous wreck’ at the thought of Tyson’s fights

PARIS Fury has been honest about “hating” watching Tyson fight, and told reporters: “I hate it I’ve got to be truthful, that’s the flat out answer.

“I support him but I don’t enjoy it. I hate being there but on the other hand, I feel like I have to be there.

“I feel like, if I’m not there, what happens if something goes wrong and I’m not with him?”

Last year she admitted she was a “nervous wreck” ahead of Tyson announcing he was doing two more fights.

On Good Morning Britain in 2020, Paris was asked whether she’s worried Tyson could suffer brain damage after years in the ring.

She answered: “I did, there’s a saying in boxing – it’s punch drunk.

“Over the time, it can’t be great. I hope he retires in the next few years, but he says he will when he’s 40.”

Second loss

While Tyson managed to resume his career, just days before his comeback fight against Sefer Seferi in 2018, Paris had another miscarriage.

Fearing it would impact her husband in the ring, or have an effect on his mental health, she decided not to tell him until after the fight.

She said: “I was about eight weeks pregnant.

“Then on the day of the fight I knew I’d lost our baby.

We never spoke much about the baby. It had happened, and it had been horrendous, but we both agreed to try to move forward, and stay strong for the sake of the family

Paris Fury

“I didn’t mention it to Tyson before he went in the ring.

“Then straight after it I told him and the next day we went to the hospital and it was confirmed.

“Five weeks later we fell pregnant again…We were still heartbroken over our loss, but overjoyed at the same time.”

Baby Tyson was born three months prematurely and weighed just a pound.

It’s the reason his dad John opted to call him Tyson, after boxer Mike Tyson, saying: “I thought, ‘There’s only one name fitting for him, he’s fought hard to become a person living in this world’.”

Athena’s ICU scare

In 2021, Paris gave birth to Athena but the young tot was immediately taken to ICU and put on a ventilator.

Fury’s father John revealed that Athena had ‘died for three minutes’ but thankfully the ‘miracle’ workers at the hospital were able to revive her.

Athena managed to fight through and was discharged from hospital, with Tyson admitted the ordeal “probably took a couple of years off my life”.

Speaking of their large family now, Paris said: “I felt totally blessed that my dreams had come true.

“I’d often joke that I was trying to keep up with Morecambe’s famous Radford family, who, at the time of Adonis’ birth, had twenty children in their household.”

Grounded family

Despite being the highest-paid fighter of 2020 with £46million earned, the couple are adamant their kids will be grounded.

The Gypsy King wants his children to grow up working for their fortune and has made sure to normalise their lives as much as possible.

Fury said: “For me it’s very important to stay close to my grassroots as I’ve got a lot of kids coming up, I’ve got five kids, very important for them to know the value of money.

“It’s very important for them to know how to earn money. So, if they see me splashing out all the time and living a movie stars’ lifestyle they grow up thinking that’s the only way they can live.

“To earn from a normal job, £200-300-a-week, however much they’re going to get, they might think that’s no good if they’ve been spoiled rotten by multi-millionaire parents.”

Inside Tyson and Paris Fury’s love story

WITH world champ titles, multiple kids and a beautiful wife by his side, Tyson is much-loved by the nation, but his romance with Paris dates back to their teenage years.

Paris met Fury when she was just 15 at a mutual friend’s wedding.

However, it wasn’t until a year later, when their paths crossed again on a night out in Doncaster for her 16th birthday, that they began dating.

Paris explained: “He was my first boyfriend as I was not allowed a boyfriend until the age of 16. He is the only boyfriend I have had.

“Tyson would train in boxing during the week and then come and see me at the weekend. I would always be so excited at the thought of seeing him.”

In 2008, they tied the knot in front of 400 guests and slept together for the first time on the night of their wedding.

In 2016, Fury’s mental health issues, cocaine and alcohol abuse, and intolerable mood swings threatened their seemingly unbreakable marriage.

On occasion, Paris would even contemplate leaving – packing her bags and getting into her car.

However, she’d just stop herself – admitting she couldn’t leave Tyson to “crash and burn”.
