Kaizer Chiefs welcome two ‘new signings’

Kaizer Chiefs have welcomed back to the training grounds the midfield duo of George Matlou and Tebogo Potsane.

Matlou and Potsane have been out for months with injuries but they were spotted at Naturena on Wednesday morning.

Having not been part of Nasreddine Nabi’s team since the start of the season, the duo are more like new signings for Kaizer Chiefs.

Nabi has had a fair share of assessing the majority of his squad in competitive matches this season.

However, those injured, including Matlou and Potsane, haven’t been able to get that opportunity at Kaizer Chiefs this season.

Now, with Matlou and Potsane back from their respective injuries, Nabi has enough pool of players to choose from going forward.

Nabi is using Bradley Cross as a left-wing back with no natural left-winger, and Potsane’s return is a huge boost.

KAIZER CHIEFS DUO RETURN AHEAD OF SCHEDULE

Earlier this month (October), Kaizer Chiefs issued an injury update on their players, and both Matlou and Potsane were expected back in November.

Now, their return to training means they’re ahead of schedule.

However, they will now have to regain full fitness before being considered for competitive matches.

“Another player progressing well is George Matlou. He has started running and doing some ball work and we are looking at a November return for him.

“Tebogo Potsane went for a scan which showed some ligament damage [in his ankle], so we expect him to be out for around three weeks,” read the statement at the time.

WILL NABI USE ANY OF HIS RETURNING SOLDIERS?
