GREER, S.C. (WSPA) — An arrest has been made in connection to a Tuesday night car crash that killed a man.
The Greer Police Department said the crash occurred at 8:55 p.m. at the intersection of North Line Street and East Poinsett Street, when a 2017 Jeep Cherokee rear-ended a 2024 Honda CR-V.
Both occupants of the Honda were taken to Prisma Health Greenville Memorial Hospital were the driver died from his injuries.
Officials identified the driver as Johnny Elder.
Police charged the driver of the Jeep, Matthew Beauchemin, with reckless homicide.
“This collision is still an active investigation and no further details are available at this
time,” police said.
