Steven Miles’ morning walk along the beach with his wife just two days before the Queensland state election has divided Aussies.
The Prime Minister enjoyed some downtime with his wife Kim McDowell at Marcoola Beach on the Sunshine Coast on Thursday morning.
The pair walked hand in hand and posed for photos, with the Prime Minister later sharing a selfie on his social media platforms.
The post received mixed reactions, with many pledging their vote for Labour, while others took the opportunity to condemn the politician.
‘Family man Steven Miles deserves another chance. We are with you Steven!’ one Queenslander responded on Instagram.
‘Thank you for taking care of us healthcare workers! You are doing a fantastic job for everyone in Queensland. The state will continue to look brighter with you as our Prime Minister. You are a top leader,” said another.
‘I love the walks on the beach, Steve. You are a real leader, not like (Liberal leader David) Crisafulli who is only interested in cutting services,” one person wrote.
Others on social media were less than happy with the morning walk, pointing to opinion polls suggesting the LNP is likely to come out on top in Saturday’s election.

The beach walk took place two days before the Queensland state election
“We’re getting ready for the party while you’re gone,” someone said.
“How many Aussies living in tents have you seen while walking on the beach?” said another, referring to the country’s housing problem.
“You can retire in Noosa,” one commented.
“You ordered our state, caused people to die alone, caused businesses to close and families to stop speaking. Only fools would vote for that tyranny again,” read one comment.
Miles will face Crisafulli on Saturday when Queenslanders go to the polls. More than 900,000 voters have already cast their votes.
The LNP remains ahead in the polls, but their lead over Labor has narrowed in recent days.
Mr Miles became premier of the Sunshine State when Annastacia Palaszczuk resigned in December last year.
Mr Crisafulli has been leader of the LNP since November 2020.
Crisafulli’s campaign has been dogged by questions about his views on abortion after he voted against decriminalization in 2018.
