Justice Amina Adamu Aliyu of Kano State High Court has fixed Nov.20, to hear all pending applications in corruption and misappropriation allegations suit against the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje; his wife, Dr Hafsat Ganduje; and six others.
Ganduje, his wife, Abubakar Bawuro, Umar Abdullahi Umar, Jibrilla Muhammad, Lamash Properties Limited, Safari Textiles Limited and Lasage General Enterprises Limited are facing charges bordering on bribery allegations, misappropriation and diversion of public funds running into billions of naira.
When the matter came up on Wednesday, counsel to the plaintiff, Adeola Adedipe, SAN, told the court that they were ready to proceed with preliminary objections of one of the defendants, but counsel for Ganduje and his wife Offiong Offiong, SAN, told the court that they had not been served the preliminary objection and the plaintiff’s counter affidavit.
“My lord we are not ready. We filed a time and facility application. We are asking for another date to move the application,” the senior lawyer said.
Counsel to the 3rd and 7th defendant, Taye Falola, informed the court that they had not been served also with the applications and counter affidavit.
Counsel to the 6th respondent, Nureini Jimoh, SAN, told the court that he had filed a notice of preliminary objection dated July 9 and was ready to move the same.
Justice Aliyu said service of processes is very important and overruled the plaintiff’s application.
The judge adjourned the matter to Nov. 20, for a hearing of all pending applications.
