Man killed in Rockrimmon shooting identified

(COLORADO SPRINGS) — The Colorado Springs Police Department (CSPD) has identified a man who died following a shooting in the Rockrimmon neighborhood on Oct. 16.

According to CSPD, 48-year-old Todd Schneider died of injuries sustained in a shooting in the 7400 block of Stonecrop Court, on the north side of the Rockrimmon neighborhood.

CSPD said officers originally responded around 9:46 a.m. on Oct. 16 to a report of a shooting. When they arrived, officers found Schneider dead of at least one gunshot wound. The CSPD homicide unit responded to assume the investigation.

Everyone involved in the shooting is accounted for, CSPD said.

This is the 36th homicide in Colorado Springs in 2024. At the same time in 2023, there had been 27 homicides.

This remains an ongoing investigation, and CSPD asked anyone with information or who is a witness to contact police at (719) 444-7000, or call Crime Stoppers at (719) 634-STOP (7867) to remain anonymous.
